"We were greeted with a warm welcoming greeting by . He was very helpful in giving directions and recommending dining options. The room was very spacious. We also enjoyed a beautiful view. Water pressure was great. The windows were able to be opened. The morning breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices. Thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful town."

"The staff was super helpful and nice ! It makes a difference in a long trip ! They were very accommodating considering they had roof construction in the building. Nice room with scenic view on the lake with balcony to enjoy the sun at the end of a long drive. Hotel is conveniently located near E39 but also quiet. Very clean. Breakfast was excellent with good choice of food. I definitely recommend."

"We loved our time at the Hjelle Hotel!! It was our favorite place in Norway. We only wished we had been able to stay longer. The location is absolutely beautiful. Nothing like looking out your window and seeing the beautiful lake and mountains. Lorenz and his staff were kind and welcoming hosts. We ate several meals at the hotel restaurant and everything was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel! "

"The grounds were lovely. We wished our room was in the original building, rather than the addition with entrance from the back. The dining area was spectacular and the morning breakfast divine. The presentation was lovely and assortment of sweets and savories was brilliant. We wanted to stay and sit in the dining area for the rest of the day. The stepson who checked us in was the only downside of our stay at Walaker. He was officious, abrupt, discourteous to our driver/guide and made a big deal about serving us dinner. Also, the speaker after dinner barely covered the history of Walaker and the family but seemed very impressed with himself and his humor was sometimes off. "
