"Our hotel experience didn’t start off great. After 9 hours of travel, we arrived really excited,mainly because we had booked this resort for the rooftop pool. Unfortunately, we were told on arrival that the pool would be closed for 10 days, which was a big disappointment, especially considering the price we paid. It would have been helpful if this had been clearly stated on Expedia beforehand.
When we first entered our room, it was quite unpleasant. There was a strong damp smell, and the bed and chair were actually wet to sit on. The bathroom was also dirty and smelled bad. I contacted reception right away, and to their credit, they handled it well,meeting us downstairs and moving us to a room in another building, which was much better.
The location isn’t ideal as it’s quite far from most things, but we rented a scooter for 250, which made getting around easier.
Despite the rocky start, the hotel staff were absolutely amazing,from reception to the servers and cleaning team. They really made a difference to our stay. The breakfast buffet was average,not the best we’ve had, but not the worst either.
I did contact Expedia and received a small credit, which didn’t feel entirely fair given the situation with the pool. However, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a suite, which was fantastic and greatly appreciated.
A special mention to Linh (I hope I’ve spelled that correctly) he was incredible. It honestly felt like he never stopped working and always went above and beyond.
