"We arrived late night Door closed took 25 mins for someone to open from reception even by ringing bell. Staff, not friendly. First room was decrepit, headboard scratched deteriorated with nasty stains. A/C not working, sofa chair with horrible brown and white stains all over the seat and backrest. No Kleenex tissues. Room smelled. Hairs hanging from hangers in the closet. Mold inside shower. Etc. We were staying for two nights, yet after the horrible experience we decided to leave the hotel. As I requested for hotel manager, already packed and ready to leave at the lobby, all I was able to get was the front desk manager. She understood perfectly and saw pictures. Finally after a while she offered comp the night charges and pleaded for us not to leave unhappy. She took matter in her own hands and gave us a much nicer (yet still worn out room) but seemed fine. As my wife was going to settle in she opened the toilet seat, and surprise… the upgraded room to make us happy, was filled with urine and excrement. We didn’t not even unpack … we simply stormed out of that nasty, old, dirty hotel. I was going to pay almost 300 Euros and believe me when I say that was not even worth 1 Euro. Cleaning standards for anyone should not be put at test when traveling to a hotel they brag on this site to be excellent. I say this with all honesty and in an effort to help any vacation or business travelers, avoid at all cost!!! Walk a further from train station, and find any other option!! "

"A nice, comfortable hotel, close to the central station in Utrecht. I had a 'Spa room', which had a jacuzzi bath with a view, as well as a good sized bathroom with shower. The room could be improved with a couple of USB charging ports on at least one of the electrical sockets, but apart from that, this was a good stay. All parts of central Utrecht were easily walkable from here too."

"Room smelled terrible. They did nothing. You can hear the snoring and talking all night next door. No room in the restaurant for dinner as they bring in tour groups to eat. Disappointed."

"Very spacious room with comfortable bed and massive bathroom! The pool & sauna on the 20th floor are lovely. Good meal in the restaurant with friendly staff. Very good underground parking at reasonable price and close to bus route to get into the city."

"Very nice room (especially loved the bathroom design!) We paid for breakfast, which was a good buffet with a big selection (cold and hot), the hotel is not near any cafes so it is worth adding breakfast. We loved the pool/sauna/steam room with a view of the lake. We would definitely stay again and hire the hotel bikes to cycle into Utrecht (it's also easy on the bus to get there from the centre). Staff were excellent too."

"Was sent to a room in a separate building. No lift. Walked the stairs and then was confronted with masses of building stuff, plaster board, dust. Went back to reception asked for a different room. Had to take a twin room in the conference block with a balcony. Woke up to the smell of cigarette smoke with someone smoking on the balcony as the entire balcony for the whole floor isn’t seperated. "
