The hotel was a quirky place and very clean. The staff were very welcoming and made our stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was superb and plentiful. We were in a room on the top floor and as the building is 330 years old although the stairs are steep it made the hotels Character. The room was given a modern art look which we found delightful. We would recommend this hotel for Andre Rieu concerts and any other times for visiting as it’s in the centre and close for many things to see and do.

Fabulous location, lovely spacious room, beautiful and quirky decor. If we return to Maastricht, I would definitely stay here.

Really nice hotel with cozy environment. Marcel and Wendy (our hosts at the hotel) were really kind and helpful. A really nice thing about this hotel was that the breakfast was served in the room, which we thought is not a good thing at first. But then it felt really better because we didn't have to wear our clothes just to have breakfast. Plus, we could order only one breakfast and share it together. The hotel is in a really great location. Almost every important place in Maastricht is in the walking distance. So we didn't take any buses while we were at Maastricht (except for the first/last day from/to the train station). The only bad thing about the hotel was the stairs that were kind of scary. But it's really not a big deal.

Thank you for your great review, really nice. Indeed... our standard rooms are on the 3rd. floor. So three steep stairs need to be taken, we don't have an elevator in our monumental house. Our deluxe rooms are on the 1st. and 2nd. floor. We have one superior room, it's on the ground floor.

Dear guest, thank you for your review. Other guests will laugh about it as your comment doesn't fit reality. You even did not visit our hotel yourself, it was someone else you've booked for. It's in the info that we do NOT have a 24h reception, that we do NOT have a lift, so that cannot be a surprise. Besides we have sent you 2 days before arrival an email about it. You confirmed it even! Next morning the guest didn't even say goodmorning and immediately started to explane in a rude way that her luggage had to be brought downstairs. Sorry I am helping everybody but I am not a dog. After that item payment became a discussion, as your guest was thinking that everything had already been paid. But it wasn't because you didn't red your confirmation from Expedia, it says clearly that paiment is to be done in the hotel. So maybe you could appologize that you were wrong in every way...!

Great Loca
We stayed here for one night. The location is fantastic and the owner very helpful. The decor is quirky, the room was a decent size, bathroom small but not an issue still useable. The only thing I would change would be to have air conditioning in the room.

It's a monumental building from 1690 and it is not allowed to install airco's at all. Besides it was an extremely long hot summer with temperatures over 35 degrees. Normally we have 2 days in a year with these temperatures, so an airco is normally speaking not needed. We can't recoup such an investment. And most guests don't have an airco at home either.

Standard rooms are on the third floor. So three steep stairs to be taken, we don't have a lift!

Great location and fantastic folks working there.
We had a fantastic stay here . Marco was a great host. He greeted us and helped us get settled. He gave us good suggestions on what to see and do. Also recommendations for restaurants. He was very personable . Much nicer than staying at a chain hotel. We had a top floor room. It was quiet and comfortable. Stairs might be tricky for older folks, disabled or young children. I would definitely stay here if I return to Maastricht!

Charming central building with a lot of character
Owner is a very very pleasant man. Checkin is easy, even in the after-hours when there is no one there. Building has a lot of the old Maastricht charm, with a narrow, steep, spiraling staircase. Rooms are tastefully decorated. Mine, had some vintage radios and metal lockers, and an original painting for sale. Location is very central. The shower always had warm water. The heaters work very well to keep the room warm. The building being old, you do hear creaks and cracks as the neighbors upstairs walk about, so be warned if you are a light sleeper. Also, if your room faces the courtyard, it is quieter than if you face the street, unless someone sits in the courtyard and talks, in which case the sound echos into the room when the windows are open. There is no A/C or fan, which is seldom needed in Maastricht, but for you to know if you like it very cool when you sleep.

The owner (marcel) is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cozy. We used the breakfast option and that was more than complete. We had a great time, we'll be back.

Van te voren goed geïnformeerd door Marcel. Top ontvangen met een fijne uitleg over de omgeving. Kamer was perfect. Wij zaten met 2 personen in kamer 7; super leuke standaard kamer aan de achterkant van het verblijf, heerlijk stil in de nacht en ochtend.Echt een aanrader!

Sorry but you mislead potential guests, as we do have parking places at 300 meters walk from hotel. It is also written on our confirmation which is automaticly send when booking a room. But we have to arrange it in advance, that's why we send two days before arrival all our guests an email about checkin atc. We regret that Expedia does not give us the right details to send it. We cannot do anything about that, please complain at Expedia.

Serviceminded personal. Underbar frukost serverad på rummet (köps extra för 12,5 Euro/dag). Lite väl rustik inredning för min smak men väldigt rent och fräscht. Sköna sängar. Espressomaskin på rummet :-)

Gezellig op een perfecte locatie
Gezellig, knus hotel met een zeer vriendelijke gastheer die graag met je meedenkt. Kamers erg ruim en gezellig ingericht (beetje retro). Hotel is wel wat gehorig dus uitslapen was er niet bij. Locatie perfect, midden in de gezellige binnenstad!

Wat een leuke en uitgebreide review. We bevinden ons in een monumentaal pand uit 1690 met houten vloeren en trappen. Hoewel wij het in ons infoboekje vragen, houdt helaas niet iedereen evenveel rekening ermee dat dit wat meer gehorig kan zijn.

Net hotel op een goede locatie
De locatie is perfect in het centrum, alle bezienswaardigheden zijn op loopafstand. Voorafgaand aan ons bezoek had de eigenaar al contact opgenomen en de nodige informatie doorgegeven. We zijn daarnaast erg vriendelijk ontvangen en konden heel vroeg de kamer al in (rond 12:00). Onze kamer was leuk ingericht met o.a. allerlei ouderwetse dingen zoals een typemachine. Het bed was prima. Enige minpuntje vond ik zelf de wat verouderd ogende douchekop en lekkende doucheslang.

Beste gasten, dank voor de mooie review en fijn dat het verblijf zo goed bevallen is. Jammer dat u de lekkende doucheslang niet even gemeld heeft, dan hadden wij deze direct vervangen. Vooral omdat u ook nog eens twee nachten bij ons heeft verbleven.

Das Hotel ist klein und individuell. Es gibt 2 Zimmer pro Etage. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß. Sehr netter Empfang, auch Deutsch sprechend. Die Zimmer sind individuell gestaltet. Unser Zimmer war zum Hof und sehr ruhig. Frühstücksservice auf dem Zimmer gibt es. Das Auto kann man in einer Tiefgarage in der Nähe unterbringen (22 Euro pro Tag, zusammen mit dem Zimmer buchbar), aber auch auf den Park and Walk Parkplätzen in der Nähe für 6 Euro am Tag (selbst organisisiert).

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel Mitten im Herzen der Altstadt. Super Zimmer und sehr ruhig was den Straßenlärm anbetrifft (Zimmer mit Balkon). Im Haus selbst etwas hellhörig aber für einen Kurztrip optimal. Der Kontakt mit dem Hoteleingentümer ist sehr freundlich und informativ gewesen - viele tolle Insindertips.
