"Firstly the property is up a very steep hill , there was no mention of this . The apartment is separate to the building in the photo. There was no internet , you had to go to the main building for this . The pool and breakfast was also there , we declined as it felt you were in someone’s house, intruding . "I just returned from a 9 night stay avdchete are my observations: The hotel is very centrally located and just seconds away from the beach and the main bars and restaurants. It has good sound proofing so no disruption to sleep or rest. They have backup power generators so no disruption to air conditioning, hot water etc. There are lots of stray dogs around but they don't bother you. The area felt safe but Blue Velvet has 24 hour security for peace of mind. The restaurant staff are great...

"I booked for 4 nights but stayed 12. That must be saying something. All the staff gave excellent service and extremely friendly. Always a Bonour when they see me. As it was my birthday when I arrived I sent email before asking if they could arrange a lobster. Diane replied and arrange it. I had all my evening meals in there downstairs restaurant ( they have 2) by the beach and the food was excellent. Drinks and food were very reasonably priced. I ate and drank well. Even made Dry Martini for me. Rooms are a good size. I had a ocean view with lovely sunsets Ideally located for boat trips to other islands. I also had many excellent massages. Treat yourself at the hotel. If you go to this hotel you will not be disappointed. You may wish to stay longer"

"This place really is paradise. Me and my girlfriend spent 9 nights here and had a fantastic time. The bungalows are spacious with your own sun beds overlooking the sea which is no more than 10/20 meters away. Food is very good and the portions are very generous. We did some excursions organised by the hotel and again everything ran perfect and was very enjoyable. The Tuk Tuk drivers and the taxi drivers they use are also very helpful and we felt perfectly safe and happy when we used them. The staff are all very friendly. It’s such a quiet and secluded place, the perfect place to relax and unwind. It also has the most beautiful sunsets every evening we watched them go down and felt very lucky to be in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the island."

"I loved my visit to Villa les Orchidées. The hotel was amazing and the staff were more than helpful. My three complaints are very, very minor and would not effect a decision to stay there again, however people should know what they are getting: 1) There is no hot-tub, only a pool. 2) There is no real coffee, only instant garbage. 3) The hotel soundtrack is nauseating. I have a feeling the owner, whom you will more than likely meet, likes it, but its just awful."

"It was a wonderful holiday! The reception staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was on the ground floor as requested and close to the dining room, pool and entertainment area. The gardens and pools were very well maintained. The beach activities superb, the food was of a high standard. The "All inclusive" was a very good choice!! The room was serviced daily and beautifully cleaned. Andrea was very friendly and helpful. Thank you to each and every staff member that made our stay so great, we hope to visit again soon. One small thing that could be changed would be more comfortable chairs on the verandah, those director chairs are upright, you sit too deep and painful."
