Baros Maldives

"WE have been to the Maldives over 30 times and have experienced nearly 20 islands. Initially we went with our children , now we travel as a couple . We now often visit two islands and usually finish on Baros as we know we will finish on a high. They know what we like and without asking now they try and cover all our requests. We like our holiday to run smoothly, we spend our days snorkelling on a house reef on the island with no boat transfer. and reading and want to finish with a good quality a la carte meal. Even though we have been to Baros nine times we still see different fish on their reef. It is a peaceful island and all the staff are very friendly and have a very good work ethos and work as a team. Elbo did a fantastic job keeping our room clean whilst we were at breakast/ evening meal ( something we like) and yet again Saeed helped make everything run smoothly. We ate at all three restaurants and had a variety of different foods (one of our favourites the lobster bisque at the Lighthouse restaurant). We are looking forward to returning in January with one of our daughters who goes out diving most days."

"Great arrival in the speedboat to a very warm welcome, quick check in with a refreshing towel and drink. Premium beach room was excellent, very easy access to the beach and enough coverage of foliage for when you need a little shade. Food and service excellent, alcoholic drinks a little expensive but you know that on a resort. All in all very magical trip, so magical we have added 3 days in a water villa to experience that. Special mention to Rafaah on reception who is very helpful and looked after us from day 1 and also Akmal at breakfast and dinner who has been excellent throughout our stay, all and all wonderful paradise to have spent time here. Thank you to everyone who makes the place tick over seamlessly. A very happy couple"

"From airport pick up to check in to excursion’s to food to view the resort was superb. We had a villa over the water and woke up each day to amazing views and went to bed after lovely sunsets. Food was high quality for buffet eating and variety was international. Snorkeling was an underwater magical world to see at your leisure. Staff was kind and helpful and clearly enjoy working in such a lovely environment. The resort was just big enough to feel all amenities were there but small enough to still feel boutique."

"Dream Vacation Come True: I had been researching traveling to the Maldives for about 3 years. I looked at probably 50 hotels, and finally settled on Oblu Select Lobigili. We were there in July. The weather was mid-eighties and humid. We had the overwater bungalow with a private pool. If you're not sure about the pool - GET IT! We watched sunsets from the pool, and we hung out in the pool when conditions in the ocean didn't allow us to snorkel. We stayed for 1 week, and it was pretty perfect, with a few minor things worth mentioning. The pros: It was adults only! The overwater bungalow was amazing! Housekeeping kept it clean - they came in the daytime to clean and replenish supplies, and they did a turn-down service at night. The food was outstanding! So many choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our host, Ruchika, was so kind and helpful. We used WhatsApp to keep in touch, which made it so easy. We got 1 free dinner at the underwater restaurant, which was so fun. We got 1 free snorkeling trip to a nearby reef, which was super fun. We got a free massage as well. The cons: The ladder leading into the ocean from our bungalow was hard to climb up and down. You had to be in reasonably good shape, and I would have preferred stairs. We booked a star-gazing boat trip, but because they needed a minimum of 6 people to take the trip, and no one else booked it, we didn't get to do it. The floor in the bathroom is super slippery after you take a shower."
