Decent place by the beach. Very poor customer service. No wifi in rooms and available wifi in shared space was very poor. We could say we only enjoyed the food.

Located on a beautiful beach it had all the potential. Unfortunately it was a sad experience. Firstly, the reception looked like a junk storage. Somewhere between the piles of paper and rubbish we found a receptionist. She did not lose one smile going through the check in process and upfront payment. Secondly the most of pictures show a kind of pretty main house with the sea views. We were located in a garden villa passing by some junk yard and maintenance area. The other direction was full of drying out (?) matrac

Excellent location on a fabulous beach with clear turquoise ocean. Rooms and service are good, food excellent and there is a friendly barman who can mix great cocktails. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Good value for money
Lovely view on to Takamaka beach with adjoining beachside restaurant. Food was good.Both room and food Very reasonably priced for Seychelles. 40 minutes to airport.

The hotel is located in a beautiful bay that is relatively quiet. It is amazing to wake up right next to the ocean and to this view! We stayed in the junior suite in the house next to the pool and we think that it was the best choice. If you are looking for a quiet island get away, this is a perfect place for it and also doesn't break the bank. Staff was very nice and helpful. One night we came back after dinner and found dead bugs in our room which were trying to take shelter from an approaching storm. It didnt take them more than 5 minutes to send someone to clean up. We can definitely recommend this place!

Nice Beach Hotel
Nice hotel located directly on the Takamaka beach. It was a beautiful beach, and when you are in the Seychelles, you cannot beat being on a beautiful beach. Anse Intendance is a 20-30 minute walk, and it is also beautiful, although with stronger waves. Hotel staff very nice. Restaurant is good and is literally on the water. I stayed in a room away from the beach. It was a good choice for me. Bed covers could have been better, but the bed was okay. You need a car if you want to see more of the island. Taxis are expensive. Very glad I stayed here and not at Beau Vallon. Chez Batista is the only hotel on the beach, and the increased privacy is great. Wi-Fi worked well.

Accommodation by the sea in Takamaka, Mahe
We had a great holiday here in this terrific location. Away from the accommodation the beach is stunning, quiet and unspoilt. Sunsets are lovely and viewable from the beach and restaurant/bar. Snorkelling is a very popular activity - there are plenty of colourful fish and we also saw turtles and rays. We explored the rest of the island by car.

Great location and beach - No service
Location of this hotel is fantastic. Right next to the beach, a really nice one and with a view from the restaurant as well. But the service is not good, they are not very friendly or smiley, a bit rude in the way they handle their guests. And when we had an issue with our room it took them forever to come and fix it even after saying multiple times they would come. For the price, there are plenty of other options with better service and same facilities.

HoneyMooning at Villa Chez Batista
Upon arriving at the airport we were greeted by a driver that had been arranged by the hotel. After a 30 minute ride south we arrived at the Takamaka area, we couldn't believe our eyes as we arrived at Villa Chez Bestia. The hotel is located at one of the most beautiful, secluded beaches on Mahe island. Reception was very accommodating; to help us better enjoy our honeymoon they upgraded our room for all of our stay as well as gave us late check out on the day of our flight out. The room had stairs directly from the room to the beach which is unique to Chez Betista, (as the law change after the hotel was built). The hotel staff was friendly and although it did take time to get towels or other requests we didn't mind waiting and rate them 5/5 (Important to note reception is open 8am-5pm). The restaurant has good food but the staff is less helpful so we preferred to eat in our room overall, the restaurant is 3/5. Keep in mind food and water are expensive. We suggest you buy your alcohol at duty free, to save some cash. The south of the island, next to the hotel, is less touristy so there were times we were alone on the beach, making it a very peaceful place to relax. The ocean behind the hotel is also ideal for snorkeling. The rooms do not have wifi but the hotel lobby does.

Nice hotel, just a little tired
Hotel was in a good location and the view was fantastic but the hotel itself was a little tired and could do with an overhaul. I loved the view from our room (Honeymoon suite) however. We ended up leaving a day early as the place was covered in the small flies that are sometimes endemic in the area and the AC wasn't working too properly, allied with the fan having just one setting (Hurricane). Obviously the flies are a part of nature and there isn't anything you can do with them but the AC / Fan made it very uncomfortable to sleep as we either had no a/c or were so cold that we couldn't sleep. I know this is first world problems of the highest degree but it still made for an uncomfortable stay. My wife is pregnant and was having trouble sleeping thus we had to move. Lovely place though, just need to overhaul a bit.

Situated right on a stunning beach!
We had a nice stay and soaked up beautiful Seychelles!! Room was basic, but had everything we needed including a small patio, AC, and mini fridge. Could see glimpses of the sea and definately hear it at night. Food, in my opinion, was VERY pricey so we chose to eat in town for every meal. The beach was the highlight.. Stunning, large, swimable even at low tide. Not much in the way of amenities here. Didn't see any snorkels or recreation equipment for use. We brought a beach ball and our towels and we were fine though! Tours from the hotel were too expensive for us to consider. Maybe there are more reasonable options if you pre-book? There's a small pool with a nice view of the beach that I would recommend checking out. It's nice to see the scenery from a different perspective. All in all, we enjoyed our stay but were not overwhelmed with the service or facilities. In my opinion, this is a good option if you're looking for a budget accommodation with a great beach, and are planning on renting a car to explore. Thanks for the stay, Chez Batista!

Great secluded beach paradise.
Great secluded resort on an incredible beach. Room was fantastic too, the maids did a great job cleaning everyday and always put fresh flowers in the room. Had a view of the beach from our balcony and a private jacuzzi. Book the Junior Suite. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful especially Ms. Shannon and Ms. Elisa. Everything closes early around 9pm, hotel bar, resteraunts and market, so go to the market and get some snacks and drinks/beer for your room as nothing is available after hours. There are a few nice places to eat close by if you want a change from the hotel food. The staff can book a taxi for you. The only negative thing I have to say is that one staff member, I don't know her name but she worked at the bar pretty much everyday, was very rude and made no attempt to hide her bad attitude. But overall great place, I'd stay again for sure.

We loved our stay at chez Batista, the location of this hotel is breathtaking, takamaka is by far the most beautiful beach on Mahe , as for the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, food was very good, rooms are always clean , you just feel like home really that's what's nice about chez Batista

CANNOT RECOMMEND.
Did not stay at the hotel. Upon arrival at night no one was available at check in nor was there an after hours emergency phone number available. The wonderful taxi driver allowed me to use his phone and connect with hotels.com. After several hours and phone calls as well as driving around, hotels.com moved me to another property. When Villa Chez Batista was called the next day, they rudely spoke to the other hotel staff member and denied that there was no one at the property and proceeded to charge my card. No apology, no remorse whatsoever. The property was in a great location and I would have preferred to stay there rather than where I was given refuge but the attitude of the management did not make it possible.

The location is good however there is no much to do in the evening.the staff was not friendly at all.and the reception was mostly empty so when help needed nobody there.wifi poor.the restaurant open till 9:30 pm, we came 9:15, and all lights off.definitely never again;)

This hotel has its own amazing beach (beaches in Seychelles are open to public though) which is great. it is also close to grocery shops and the nearby village. It is in the south of Mahe thus a bit far from the capital Victoria and the airport (Taxi fare from the airport is about 50 Euro) The hotel itself is average but clean.The swimming pool was empty. The hotel restaurant is way overpriced with limited menu\ No one was at the reception even though we have arrived before the advertised closure time of 7PM. We were kept waiting for half an hour.

Hotel is at a wonderful beach, however the rooms/bungalows are not very charming. Hotel staff is rather reluctant to make one feel comfortable. Without a car you are bound to take the bus (next bus stop: 10 minutes walk, irregular schedules). Hotel was unable to give us a description of how best to get there. Restaurant is overprized for what they offer and the breakfast buffet isn't very good (no refills, if you come late and things are already finished). Best to spend most time at the beach and go out for food/drinks.

great hotel and beach and friendly staff and owner
excellent hotel with beautiful beach amd bolders. we went in May when it was quiet amd ideal. the romatic suite has a jacuzzi indoor and outdoor overlooking the beach. amazing. and the owner is a legend too from selling fish to now owning a hotel that is only a handful of private ones left on the island. the waiters and chef were very friendly and polite and helpful and room was clean and spacious. such a quiet private untouched beach and waking up to the sound of the waves was unreal. although we didnt venture out im the 2 days we stayed here we were surprised at the taxi cost from the airport for single journey costing £40 for a 30min journey but that is generally all taxis on the ideal so just be prepared. great hotel amd fully recommend it

Great place to relax and wind down on the beach
We stayed for two weeks to wind down and relax. Staff is friendly and very helpful. I loved sitting on the deck watching sunsets or snorkeling. what an amazing variety of sea life they have there. Truly a relaxing holiday.

our room was oke with great view but restaurant evening timings are stupid with last orders at 1830 and bar and restaurant closes at 1930. If you do not have a rental car at your disposal prepare for very boring early nights......

Le site est superbe, l"anse Takamaka très belle. L'établissement est mal entretenu, des travaux et des choses qui trainent partout le personnel de l'accueil pas sympathique, même pas capable de nous expliquer comment prendre le bus . Le 1 mai le restaurant était fermé et personne n'a informé les clients. Nous nous sommes retrouvés sans rien à manger avec 3 enfants et le personnel n'en avait rien à faire. Il n'y a rien à moins de 3 km pour acheter à manger et nous n'avions pas de voiture. Nous nous sommes groupés avec d'autres clients pour partir à pieds en pleine nuit dans la forêt sous la pluie pour acheter quelque chose. Mauvaise expérience !!!! Dommage le site est superbe

Une jolie suite pour 2 jours...
Côté chambre, tout est parfait. Spacieuse, propre, la mini suite avec jacuzzi et vue mer est superbe. L'hôtel surfe sur une réputation d'il y a quelques années et aurait besoin d'une petite rénovation. L'organisation est un peu à revoir aussi au restaurant. Beaucoup d'attente (50mn) pour un plat de pâte... Et tarifs onéreux.. Même si nous sommes aux seychelles... 25€ pour une côte de porc voire 50€ pour du crabe c'est trop... Une voiture est indispensable car loin de tout, et il n y a que le restaurant de l'hotel sur l'anse pas de takeaway à proximité. La plage est jolie et nous y sommes seuls. Attention aux vagues qui peuvent être fortes.

Dejlig strand og omgivelser
Stranden er fantastisk, og stedet ligger smukt. Men der trænger til at blive renoveret. Vi overnattede der 7 nætter, og under hele opholdet havde vi ingen varmt vand. Det blev påtalt, men der skete ikke noget. Servicen kunne være bedre, men personalet var imødekommende nok. Hvis vi vender tilbage er det på grund af stranden.
