Unique, lovely experience

Lovely property. We rented a car which worked out great, but they can arrange car service as well. It was everything I was hoping for. Dinner food is somewhat preselection with few options, but fine. A special experience.

Wonderful place , the atmosphere is,different and the view,astonishing. The only thing is there is no menu price which is very annoying! Expect 80 to 90 euros per person for a meal told by the owner at the check out. For the food you are given very tasty food and the chef is adorable and talented., the products are high quality and Italo the maestro is a very friendly , respectful and dedicated person. These two persons do their best to make the guests happy. The breakfast is good and well cooked.

The hotel is an old monastery, built into a side of a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The view is stunning. However, the accessibility is limited. The closest parking is 10-15 minutes away by shuttle. Anyone with limited mobility would have difficulty getting up the steps and navigating the uneven stone floors. However, the staff is very nice and accommodating and the breakfast provided was great, offering many authentic Italian dishes.

Off the beaten path, quiet, quaint, and all around charming. This Abbey turned modern bed and breakfast was comfortable & really special. Vincenzo & Italo were very accommodating and helpful. The chef cooked an amazing breakfast with delicious cappuccino every morning. Be minfdful, this place doesn’t have car parking. We rented a scooter from Maiori for $60/day and parked it on the premises which allowed us to come and go readily as we chose, but there is a shuttle at several hours a day. The views and charm of Badia Santa Maria De’ Olearia were everything and more. We thoroughly loved our stay.

Cute and Cosy Mountain Side Stay

Badia is a great place for couples, has romantic vibes, very cute and cosy place, the staff are very helpful and do their best, Manager Vincenzo is great, really knows his stuff and they have their own shuttle from the hotel to the next town which is very convenient due to the location. Would defintely recommend.

They canceled our hotel at the last minute, refused to give us our money back and put us up in a cheap hotel in the middle of town. We paid for a 5 star hotel in a unique property which was once a monastery. They notified us the day before that they were closed and would not give us our money back. I am so disappointed in Expedia for not supporting us and making sure we were refunded our payment.

Almafi Coast Wedding

Outstanding service from the time we arrived to the time we left. Stayed two nights for a wedding just down the way. Woke to a wonderful rainbow from our window overlooking the bay at Maiori! Hotel is built into the side of the hill or cave. Don’t know how old the hotel is but it is impecable.

The only surprise was that parking is basically on the side of the mountain, and you have to walk the coast road for a bit to get to it. Rather unnerving to park on such a severe angle. The staff was helpful in retrieving luggage. The views were stunning. The TV was large, and the room had updated electrical outlets. The toiletries provided were very nice. They made excellent cappuccinos.

Einmalige Aussicht, Historisches Hotel mit viel Charme. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und und freundlich. Wir konnten unser Fahrzeug ca. 100 Meter vom Hotel kostenlos abstellen. Kommen gerne wieder.

in viaggio con figlia per matrimonio in costiera Amalfitana. soggiorno nella camera Fra Guido tanto vituperata è andata benissimo. se si sceglie antico monastero non ci si aspetta una cella 10 x 10. colazione abbondantissima verdure grigliate dolci sfogliatelle di tutto e di più. personale professionale e dedicatissimo a prevedere ogni esigenza. pulizia impeccabile. controllato anche i filtri aria e lavandini nessuna traccia dei capelli che qualcuno ha messo tra le foto ingiustamente denigratorie a nostro avviso. Un bonus il soggiorno presso la struttura sorella il Botanico San Lazzaro 5stelle. piscina drink di benvenuto e visita dell'incantevole giardino di 2000 piante grasse. Il tutto compreso nel prezzo Signorili e impeccabili. Un grazie sentito al Alberto della reception

the hotel is in a monastery/cave which is quite spectacular but the location is on the side of a busy road with no easy access anywhere and the hotel has no amenities to make staying there a full experience. I didn't feel the staff were very helpful all things considering.

Unfortunately there was no beach, no parking available, also one needs a taxi for any activity one likes to make. Even going to dinner! Breakfast needs improvement! Very nice view, also extremely unusual. If you look for something very different, than this is for you! Patron nice!

Disappointed

The actual stay was fine and quite unique with good service and nice breakfasts on the terrace although we had booked a room with a sea view which was totally obscured by a large cactus growing outside. However, we could not find the hotel although we drove past it twice. there was no clear signage. Also, the hotel details did not tell us that the hotel was a former Benedictine Monastery, that the car parking was not on-site and would be parked by the receptionist, that the private beach was 4 kilometers away and that we would be tied to meeting a shuttle bus for transport to Maori (I go on holiday so that I don't have to be clock-watching). Finally, the private beach was disappointing because the club house was under construction and, consequently, chilling on the beach was impossible with a gang of workmen with hammers and saws just behind us.

Great hotel!

The hotel is in a beautiful location with lovely views from the terrace of the sea and cliffs. Our room was spacious (we were treated to an upgrade!) and very comfortable and the bathroom had a great shower! Vincenzo and Pietro were very kind and so helpful with all of our queries. The free access to a beach club and car park in town were a fantastic bonus! All highly recommended!

A great original hotel. no box rooms here. I would advise you try it. a little out of town but great shuttle links and the location actually adds to the beauty of the place. I challenge anyone to have a finer breakfast view.. ..

Stupenda settimana in costiera!

La nostra esperienza di 6 notti nella camera Fra Lauro è stata ottima. La location dell'albergo e l'atmosfera che gli ambienti regalano hanno reso la nostra vacanza indimenticabile. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente colpiti dal servizio navetta e dalla spiaggia riservata inclusa nel prezzo, oltre all'inaspettato parcheggio a Maiori vicino alla spiaggia con posto gratuito per i clienti dell'hotel Tutto il personale si è sempre dimostrato cortese e disponibile alle nostre richieste. Un posto particolare dove volentieri ritorneremmo.

Glimps of paradise

We stayed at Badia for 3 nights and we loved it. The place and it's surroudings are so beautiful, the staff is very polite and friendly. The free shuttle bus takes you to the heart of Maiori, a less crowded place then Amalfi itself, in just 10 min. In Maiori there were 2 beachchairs and towels reserved for us as guests of Badia. They really deserve a 2 thumbs up!!

Beautiful but isolated hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Badia Santa Maria de Olearia. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the staff were great. The view is stunning, unfortunately we was not able to enjoy it much, as the day was to warm for sitting at the terrace, and the hotel did not serve any dinner and we therefore spend our evenings elsewhere. The hotel is very quite and isolated - a bit too isolated for us. The earlist shuttle bus to Maiori (which is the only place the shuttle bus goes) was 11 am and the last from Maiori to the hotel 22.30 pm; a bit too late and too early. We didn't like Manori much, but it is possible to walk from Maiori to Minori in 10 min. Though we really liked the hotel we would probaly not book again, as it was too difficult getting around in the evening, wanting to dine and drink wine in the different cities souranding the hotel. I can imagine the place being perfect for a lovely quite autumn trip - especially when the start serving food, and if the shuttle bus were more flexible.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view.

Great experience. Wonderful place in a quite location and beautiful view of the coast. Very clean, good beds and friendly staff always ready to accommodate your needs. Private beach a bit far but the shuttle works well. We loved it and really enjoyed our stay.

Great surprise,

Fantastic stay, the hotel look like not much on the outside, but do not rush to judgement till you are inside, every possible modern element was there, loved the history, my wife and I were very surprised. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast can be improved by adding eggs, Loved the beach deal for the hotel with the beach club down the street, you get the use of chairs in a private area. A beautiful setting with great views, will come again
