The staff in the hotel are amazing. Starting from the baggage carriers to cleaning staff every single person is very wonderful and goes above and beyond to accommodate you. That being said, the hotel can definitely be more updated, more amenities, more space, and more guest services considering the price you pay.

The checkin process was long, was told room was not available (it was after 3pm!) and the desk clerk was very nonchalant in his tone. Were given a room not facing the Ka'ba when the rate was very high. Not optimal.

My first room was really run down with very few toiletries.. Had to upgrade and paid close to 700$ per night. Gym area was closed due to maintenance. Overall the faculty is definitely not getting better. For this price it has to feel like luxury not just bare minimum.

Needs improvement to be a 5 star but has potential
The check in experience needs to be better! The second room was not ready during check in. So we proceeded to the room which was ready and left all of our luggage and went to do Umrah. No information as to were to go fo breakfast, what amenities we have access to, After all booked premium rooms. Credit has to be given to the staff for the fact that this is a ridiculously busy hotel and understandably everyone wants their attention. However, from someone who stays at hotels often, key information which customer need has to be relayed upon check in. We had high expectations as this is the famous Royal Clock tower! The service was what you expect from a 3 star hotel. once again staff do try their best however special attention is naturally given to the Arab customers. More training needs to be given!! It's a global world now. If Saudi are a part of it, this village like mentality needs to be corrected. Treat all customers the same, by actual actions. I.e don't let people push in, have respect for thos waiting to be seen and acknowledge that you see them. Some of us travel thousands of miles to get to the location! We had to ring around alot to get things like the correct towels in our room. We stayed 11 nights! What we loved was the spa, jacuzzi, sauna and steam ( wear appropriate attire) staff were properly trained and well mannered. Great post Umrah when you are fatigued.
