Old hotel, room lack basic amenities, no water bottles for drinking or hot water to shower. Elevators takes forever.. i booked a standard room and i got a room with four beds while i was solo. So glad it was less than 24h stay.

The staff there are so slow, its like they are using systems from ancient times. Everything is so disorganised, you have to go through atleast 3 people just to check in. Check in should take less than 5mins but these guys managed to stretch it out to 2 hours. Also the guy at reception at reception was a tool too, walks like a lady and doesn’t know whether he's coming or going

Has everything, close to haram, specially when coming back, barber right downstairs so are many shops and some in the hotel lobby. Transportation opinions are plenty.

As we were visiting for Umrah, hotel location and distance were not good. It was taking 20 minutes to reach Haram boundary. As the construction of Haram Mosque is ongoing, lot of dust in the air makes difficult to walk. People going for Umrah, I don’t recommend this hotel for them.

As long as I did not have to interact with staff, everything was fine, room was clean, so was hotel. 10 minute or less walk to Haram via Bab ul Salam. Around 3-3:30PM I went to hotel reception and I asked them to replenish sugar in room, I was told to go back to my room and press 0. So I went and did just that, but phone was not working, so I went down to reception again to report that phone is not working and that I need sugar, instead they call concierge and told them to deliver sugar to my room. By the time I checked out around 10pm, they had not deliver sugar or provided me with working phone. Secondly, I asked for late check out, they charge me half day, which I agreed too and paid, later in day their staff came knocking my door to let me know that my check out time has passed and that I need to check out. Both experience have made me realized that they zero customer service skills and no one has control over anything.

Check in was great. Receptionist (Anas Al Buhari if I remember it right) was very helpful and effective. Enjoyed the stay thoroughly and it was mainly driven by the check in (first impression being the lasting here).

The staff was lovely and friendly however language was sometimes a problem as some reception staff did not speak English and had to ask for assistance when we approached them. I had some external issues whilst staying at grand Makkah which staff was very helpful in helping to resolve. The rooms were spacious and clean and breakfast could have been a bit more Arabic but neutral options to keep everyone happy I guess. Close to the haram but due to construction work was a bit further away. Also had to go the other side for McDonald’s and other similar food places.

Overall a good stay. Nice atmosphere. The best part is it is near Marwah. So once ur Umrah is done, u can easily reach back to room. I felt staying in this side of Haram is comfortable bcoz the clock tower area is too crowded. Here taxis are available in front of hotel all the time, so convenient to go to meeqat or railway station etc. The breakfast was also ok, with several varieties. But once you stay for several days, u will feel the menu is repetitive. Distance-wise u need to walk exactly 15 mins to Haram.

It was good except for on my arrival there system was down and they were not able to verify me and i had to wait for half an hour and one of the attendant at the reception was really rude (though not with me directly) but indirectly telling me that go away and come back at 5 which is their standard check in time although on hotel.com check in time is 4 pm. Per hotels booking team standard check in time is 3pm.

Close to the Haram, 10 minutes walk, some rooms have Haram views. Very clean. Good food, except the juice, all poor quality from concentrate, that should be replaced with fresh natural juice like orange. Good WiFi. Helpful and friendly staff. It ticked all the boxes.

Everything was excellent, the staff especially was helpful and accommodating, you can arrange everything from the hotel except that the room was a little small and the lunch menu limited. Specifically For us living in Canada the menu seemed limited for lunch

Great Hotel.
The hotel is great, it is located very close to Haram about 10-20 mins depending on your speed and which door you decide to enter from. I wouldn't recommend getting this if you have young children or reduce mobility only for time and distance to the main entrance of Haram. We had our daughter who is just under 3 and it was a bit tiring for her to walk so much, and for us when we carried her from time to time. If you are doing umrah and decide to take this hotel the best route is to go under the bridge on the left from the main entrance of the hotel and stick to the right till the entrance to sai Marwa and go past and down the stairs and follow the path to reach the main entrance of Haram. This is also in front of the clock tower where most of the shops are located.

Wonderful hotel! The stuff are friendly. They found for us H1 car to take us to the airport. Also they have pharmacy , STC network if anyone want to buy Sim card with package and great restaurant. However, they need to provide hair conditioner in the bathroom.

We liked it but ...
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Grand Hotel in Makkah, but I will give you an overview of the hotel and trying to cover all aspects as possible. Location: It is approximately 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Haram, but unfortunately with the construction at the present time if you are on the other side of the Haram ( near the clock tower as an example it will be a long walk and you have to take a taxi that it will cost appox. 15 to 20 Riyal to reach the hotel (this after finishing the construction will resolve). The hotel is a 4 star in my evaluation, still the area around many constructions Check in and out and staff: The check in and out were fast and the staff were cooperative, efficient and helpful. Rooms: One of the disadvantages of this hotel is the rooms, although they are clean, but small, hardly you have a space in the room to move. The rooms and bathrooms were Clean and the beds were comfort within normal. Restaurants and Breakfast: The breakfast was really very good with many varieties and busy, in spite of the overcrowd the staff were coping very well and all served. Room service: Very good, and average salad meal. Price: it was expensive if we take it as the hotel and the service, but at that time Makkah was overcrowded and it was expected to be expensive. My family and myself, liked the hotel with the above reservations mentioned.

Nice hotel about 15 minutes walk to Holy Mosque. My stay was during 1st day of Ramadan, the hotel was pretty crowded especially with Indoesian visitors. What I did not like is having to wait for too long for elevators (although there are almost 8 elevators) i had to wait for 20 minutes for the elevator after the Maghrib prayer rush hour to get to my room!
