Fruit & Spice Wellness Resort Zanzibar

"We had a great stay a this resort. We stayed in the honeymoon villa and it was beautiful. Jacuzzi, pool, and private entrance into the ocean and beach. The highlight was Saturday night dinner and entertainment on the resort beach. We tried some amazing dishes and staff was friendly. My personal favorites were the fried king fish and chicken biryani. I did get food poisoning half way through our stay but it passed within 2 days and the food tasted great. There was a mandatory twice a day clean and spray for pests, which we did appreciate. Julius was an amazng help our entire stay. The only complaints were the fees. We booked full board and that did not include drinks like water. We were also charged a $5 per person/per day tax fee. Also a fee for food not included as well as an additional 10% tax on all food and drinks not included. There was also a $10 fee if you wanted room service. Seemed like a money grab, we spent over $300 after paying 2k for the villa. Alcoholic drinks were inconsistent. Water was leaking form AC. I would recommend still but they could make some adjustments."
Baraza Resort & Spa Zanzibar

"We stayed at the Baraza for four nights in July, after a week-long safari. We had booked the two-bedroom villa (garden view). The staff and the food were wonderful. The personnel just wanted us to feel comfortable and at home. The quality and diversity of the food was amazing and I particularly loved the ability to ask for a custom fruit smoothie whenever I wanted. The hotel is starting to show its age a little bit if you pay attention, but overall it it very well maintained and looks like a palace from the 1001 nights. The villa is where things got a little disappointing. On the plus side, it is huge and was pretty close to the restaurants, pool and beach. But as soon as we entered we noticed the main bedroom’s door not closing, lights flickering, toilets leaking a little, iron and two pairs of slippers missing, things that the hotel manager got fixed immediately, but that we should not have even seen in a $1,600 / night villa. The iron holder is old, frayed and rusty, the hot water takes a long time to arrive (several minutes). I did appreciate the large safe, big enough for laptops. The beach looks great but is not very inviting: you need shoes in it (the hotel lends you some) and after 12-2pm a wind and current made it not fun to swim in. The pool is superb, and despite not being heated (I think) it was refreshing during the afternoon. We never felt the place was crowded and never had to way for a daybed or table. So overall a very nice stay, but not quite perfect."

"It's close to the beach, but everything around the hotel is under construction. Make sure to ask your way to the beach, it's well worth it. I found the staff to be kind and informative. This is a very good value for the prices and there are a few nice restaurants around the hotel like Al Casbah"

"Absolutely loved our stay at Ndame Paje Hotel! The room was spotlessly clean with a beautiful beach view. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is stunning. Staff were friendly and the restaurant food was very good! Jozani National Park is conveniently close for a day trip. Perfect peaceful spot right on Paje Beach. Highly recommended!"
The Residence Zanzibar

"The Residence was the perfect spot to celebrate my 40th birthday. The deluxe garden view with the private pool was exact atmosphere my husband and I were looking for. The hotel is extremely clean and they even offer room cleanings twice a day. And we also loved the different themed dinner options each night along side with a live band performance! The staff make you feel at home and apart of the family. Nico always greeted us with a warm smile and helped us capture precious moments. The location is a little far from main attractions but I promise it’s worth it. Thank you to all the staff that made our visit to Zanzibar so special!♥️"

"Clean rooms with immediate and quick room service when requested. Staff are professional and respectful. Location is a quiet and serene atmosphere. The double pool, one for kids, and the other for adults is great for family. The beach view is just 👌. Numerous beach chairs with trampoline is great. Food and waiting service is also good. A perfect get-away from the hectic and busy lifestyle."
