"We enjoyed the pool which was lovely. The hotel is up a long steep driveway which was fine for us although tough in the heat but if you have impaired mobility it would be worth using a tuk tuk to get up (if they do very short trips??) the room was clean but simple. Bathroom was spacious.. curtains not overly dark but we were happy to get up early. Staff were friendly but no breakfast (off season so fair enough) but plenty of awesome restaurants, cafes and bars and shops down the driveway in the main Street. Great location as the main drag was right at the base of the driveway!!! Plenty of local activities. The tuk tuk drivers are more than happy to take you to waterfalls or the 9 arches bridge and other sights"

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, well-organized, and featured a sleek, modern design. The absolute highlight was the viewsโ€”simply amazing from everywhere we went, including the room, restaurant, bar, and pool. The buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. A special shoutout to the staff who provided truly outstanding service. The location is ideal: perched on the hill so itโ€™s easy for cars to access, yet still well within short walking distance of the town center, shops, and restaurants. Highly recommended!"

"Lovely hotel with great staff and a beautiful location. The breakfast was excellent - possibly the best chicken curry Iโ€™ve had in Sri Lanka. The only downside is that is quite far from the centre of Ella - and getting a Tuk-Tuk through PickMe was almost impossible - meaning I had to pay at least twice as much to flag one down."

"We had a lovely stay at Ella Retreat. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and included a fridge, kettle, little cooktop and kitchen sink which was handy. We had one of the best breakfasts of our trip here - it was delicious and very generous with portions, with lots of options to choose from. Just look out for the monkeys who might pay you a visit with an eye for your food! Complimentary archery was fun, and we loved the rustic charm of the place. Please note that you can not park at the accommodation - they have a parking spot at the bottom of the hill and will cart you and your luggage up in a tuktuk (about a 5 min drive up a narrow, winding road)."

"Amazing place. Canโ€™t fault a single thing. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was amazing. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Always ready to help with a buggy. Spa was amazing in a very scenic set up. Secluded yet just a few mins drive to main city centre. Pool area is nice but the pool is rather small. Breakfast is very good, made to order. Complimentary guided trek to little Adams peak just behind the resort. They gave discount vouchers for Ravana pool club and zip lining but we didnโ€™t have time to try. Overall fully recommend."
