"The resort was well maintained, the rooms very comfortable and clean. The view was stunning. The food was excellent and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times. Overall it was a very good stay. This is a great place to get away and relax for a while."

"We had a 1 night stay over at the Golden Gate hotel. We initially thought we booked at the hotel but was surprised that we had booked a chalet. The chalet was perfect with its own braai (BBQ) outside and all the amenities required for a proper self catering experience. Would definitely stay there again as it about a 15 minute scenic drive to Clarens."

"This was my second stay here and the staff made the stay perfect. They were, pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and so accommodating. The room floors could do with a scrub as well as washing and tidying up the curtains. Other than that everything else was perfect. Washroom facilities were spot on but shower floor corners need a clean. What we took away...the beautiful staff. They are your best assets there. Then comes the views. Thank you Emma and Team"

"I would highly recommend the Protea in Clarens. It has a contemporary feel and the rooms are comfortable. It is also very well situated to explore the small town. The only downside was the very noisy air conditioning unit. "
