In the beautiful hotel we moved to (Hotel Parador) there were toucans, monkeys and giant lizards right up close by our hotel suite window and in the hotel grounds.

Great park. We hired a guide and spotted sloths, deer, howler monkeys, bats, bird life various snakes and frogs. You can finish your tour with a swim at the beach which is picture postcard beautiful.

Worth checking out Manuel Antonio national park with a tour guide; their equipment is invaluable to get a close up view (and photos!) of the animals.

A very touristy overhyped area. There are other nicer more tranquil areas to stay in Costa Rica.

It’s a great place to visit if you are in costa rica . Combines a national park ,beaches , bars /restaurants and waterfalls, more info on instagram @mihhalis

A bit touristy but good place to learn to surf. Most accommodation seems to be on a main road that is a good 15-20 min walk from the beach.
