"I actually had to give this review a lot of thought because this place truly has heart. The staff were outstanding…every single person we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The hotel offers a lot of amenities for the price: fire pits, a pool, hot tub, workout room, conference room, comfortable beach lounge chairs, and a beautiful lake view. The beds were comfortable, and I even loved the shampoo and conditioner they provided. Those little touches made a difference. That said, there are some maintenance issues that really need attention. Our balcony was so covered in spiders, webs, and bird droppings that it was basically unusable. I’m not someone who is overly bothered by bugs, but when spiders are crawling across the chair you’re sitting in, it’s hard to relax. The beach could also use some love. There was a lot of muck and seaweed along the shoreline, and old dock sections piled off to one side made the property look neglected. The fitness room could use some updating as well. The elliptical was heavily rusted and felt like it might fall apart with each step. On the bright side, there was a beautiful new Peloton bike right next to it. The TVs were also difficult to navigate, and the Wi-Fi worked only intermittently during our stay, which was frustrating at times. Overall, I’d encourage management to put a little more emphasis on maintenance and upkeep because this property has so much potential. The location is beautiful, the staff is exception"
