The room was clean and comfortable, a
good view of the beach! The staff at
the front desk were excellent! Friendly,
extremely helpful, commendable! Location
of Venice V hotel convenient, close to
everything: restaurants, shops, Venice Pier,
the canals, and Santa Monica Pier. Quite
walkable, great for people watching!
The hotel itself is historic and has that
wonderful "old hotel" feel with wooden
banisters and art deco entrance and elevator.

On a positive: check in was relatively fast and accommodating, beautiful views of the ocean.
On the other hand, room furniture was old, room was consistently not made up until early evening hours, phone calls for hotel services were not answered for up to 10 minutes, daily parking fees were unreasonably high.

My only issue was that I did not receive the discounted rates that LXR offered because I made my reservations through Expedia. I feel Expedia should be more transparent or at least or the same discounts as the hotel does.
