Coconut Cay is a beautifully updated older motel. The bed and pillows were comfortable as were the cotton sheets. We slept great! Having kayaks and bikes available to use was nice. No breakfast, but McDonald's is nearby.

The room was cute and very clean. The property was a disappointment. The pool was supposed to stay open until 8, but it closed at sunset (6:30). The listing said ocean view, but you could not see the ocean from anywhere on the property. It was a cute place for what it is but the listing and pictures are misleading. We arrived around 6:30p and checked out early the next morning and found different lodging.

It just looks nothing like the pictures. You come in off a busy highway to a 1950’s motel that has been nicely updated, rooms and bathrooms small but modernized, looking out of the patio doors into lawn and pool. Nice, but not what the pictures say. Busy highway doesn’t keep you awake. Complementary bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards. It is expensive, but cheap for the Florida Keys. I guess it was a deal. Not 4-5 star though.
