The hotel was clean and most staff friendly and helpful. The pool and slides are nice but you could do with a larger pool just for swimming. The room was functional and clean with a small balcony. The food choice was OK but the food was like warm. The entertainment team are very enthusiastic. The evening is a bit hit and miss with entertainment and its difficult to get a seat as they seem in short supply. The bar for the evening is too small for the amount of people at the hotel and no other bar was open, so it took 30 mins to get served. Check in and out was easy. There are 2 supermarkets within walking distance and lots of nice restaurants. Also there is a high ropes adventure place behind the hotel.

A very good half board stay in a triple room
My friends and I had a triple room. It was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. We had breakfast and our evening meal included. You also get free drinks including beer and wine during meals. Overall the food was good. There was lots of choice with healthy options. I would stay here again.

The water slides are good, however the 3 dead cockroaches in the children’s games room not so great. The reception staff weren’t that friendly. I got locked in a toilet and had to send my 6 year old daughter to get help. She was ignored for 15 minutes by the reception staff while they chatted. In which time I had managed to get out of the toilet. Who ignores a clearly distressed 6 year standing in reception by herself?

Fine for the money but not outstanding
This Hotel will not blow you away or exceed expectations however a good value option for some sun in Spain. The location is excellent as it is only 30 mins from Malaga, adjacent to some convenient shops and bars and only a short walk from the beach. The staff were also great. However, the Hotel does need a little more upgrading to bring it up to a better standard and the pool could really do with heating for the earlier months.

My luggage was stolen from the locked boot of my car, five minutes after I parked up and walked into the reception area to check in. There are no cameras or lights in the main parking area and as it was dark when I arrived at the hotel, my car was an easy target for the thief to smash the back window to get into the boot. Please take care and keep all your luggage with you at all times in and near the ROC hotel.

My stay at the Roc hotel
Enrico the guy on reception was very welcoming .Our stay was half board which included a very substantial breakfast and either a lunch or dinner..The food was very good and there were a variety of choices.The accomodation was adequate and clean..The staff were very friendly..Overall I could not fault the Hotel in any department..Enjoyed my stay and would stay there again..

Last minute getaway
Last minute getaway, utilizing reasonable Ryanair flights to Malaga. Hotel is very near the town (urbanisation) of Elvira - near enough for a short stroll! The water park kept the children (and me entertained) whilst not sunbathing by one of the 3 pools! Plenty of sunbeds to go around. Food very good for a buffet style restaurant, with themed nights. Rooms were well presented, with memory foam mattresses; and although the hotel is quite close to the A7 dual carriage way, a choice of pool view or 'forest view' is available with little or no road noise. All in all a nice stay, too short though!

location not ideal as no train goes that far so have to take costly minicab or risk trying to take luggage on a public bus which is likely to be crowded. main pool has no shallow end at all so any young children of 5-10 years couldn't go on slides without adult being present unless could swim with confidence. Water also was opaque.

Pool with hundreds of screaming kids. Loud music blaring out over pool constantly. My room had telephone but none had a plug in point to make it work. The water came out of the faucets at a trickle and was not hot enough. Foyer always busy with more children running all over the area. Crying babies. Ants were in evidence in 2 rooms I had. There were safes in some rooms and not others. The dining room was a free for all with aggressive residents pushing in front of other people, in fact one woman completely fell to the floor and pushed in to my arthritic hips causing me pain, with not a word of apology. There should be a system which prevents this aggression. The hotel is definitely not a 4 star. A 3 star would be a generous rating. The staff were of 5 star quality and could not be faulted. The food was varied and plentiful and of good quality. To bring this hotel up to 4 star standard buildings wise will cost 1,000,000 euros. The cost per room per night is over 100 euros half board and 30% over priced. Sorry you did ask. !!

Spacious hotel with beautiful gardens
Stayed half board and good range of food for both breakfast and dinner with lots of fresh fruit. Included wine or beer and soft drinks with dinner. Well laid out large complex with 3 pools lots of gardens and plenty of benches dotted round. Regular shuttle to beach. Small fridge in room.

Hotel staff really helpful and the rooms were brilliant memory for mattresses best nights sleep I've ever had. The food could have been better nothing for kids. But there was pasta so I like that ha. But a top place for the price.

First time to Spain ,Don't go till summer time, during Easter holiday pool was not open .and free shuttle bus was full of OAP cannot get on it.

Needs updating and a dramatic improvement in food.
Pleasantly situated hotel in pretty grounds - however these feel rather neglected and need much more care. Everything feels like it is being done on a shoestring. We were told that the hotel was in the process of being updated but a lot more work needs to be done. It has a real 70s/80s feel about it. The bedroom furniture is tired and dated. There was a generally grubby feel to the rooms, stairs and walkways and nothing felt particularly clean. The dining area has clearly been redecorated recently but the chairs are hard and uncomfortable. I felt very sorry for the kitchen staff as some of their equipment was in very poor condition, for example one of the shelves of the serving trolley was so bent and twisted that they couldn't put any dishes on it. The worst aspect however was the food. Everything felt like it was the cheapest possible. The meat dishes were off putting. The bacon was so thin you could almost see through it and each slice had about 1/5 meat to 4/5 fat. The variety and quality of vegetables and fruit was poor and everything felt like it was very close to its sell-by date. It was really hard to find enough to eat either at breakfast or dinner.
