We booked our 4 night stay at Golf Club Villas a few months prior knowing that it can be hard to find a place during the Pickens County Sheriff's Jeepfest. We had stay in a similar unit the year before through a different company and booked knowing that it was a good value. The photos looked more dated than I would have liked but we were pleasantly surprised. The bedrooms had just been updated, great beds and bedding. Decor is basic and bathrooms and kitchens are still dated but appliances were newer and everything worked perfectly. Super clean unit, room for 2 vehicles and convenient for us. I would book again in a heartbeat!

Great having 2 king beds. The villas show their age with the fact there aren’t many power outlets. Parking can be a bit of a challenge if you have a bigger vehicle or truck. Hard to turn around. Recommend backing in to the parking spots. Great overall place to stay for a few days for the convenience of a full kitchen and space. Nice view of the golf course. Quiet. Older stove, but functional. A bit of a walk from the parking spots to the front door. The outdoor automatic lights don’t always come on, but doable if you leave the porch light on.

Place was great. pool beach area with pedal boats, paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks were all free to use. In really nice community. I didn’t play golf at the golf course looked amazing in the people that did play. It said it was a really good course.

Very convenient for Gibbs Gardens. Great grocery store and local restaurants. Lovely setting for villa, I would have liked more time there. Villa are old but clean inside and bed was comfortable. If you arrive after hours, drive behind the bank building and you will find the box with your key package, call the number on box to get the padlock code. I missed it the first time.

The pictures look AI generated compared to the property amenities. There were no paddle boats, no boats, $20 fee per person to use indoor pool?? Restaurants are at least 4 miles from the cabin not a two minute walk. Clubhouse was booked for a private event. They lost my reservation or could not find it, disappointed overall there was no mention that there would be no paddle boats and a huge charge to use the indoor pool. It also said the restaurants were 2 minute walk. That is a definitely false. Pros: the cabins were extremely clean.

Gold Club Villas is an older property, but it was priced very well for what you get. Everything was is working order, clean and comfortable. I knew from other reviews that the decor was dated, but my kids actually loved it. They said it was like visiting grandma’s house. The property around the villas is AMAZING!! We enjoyed just driving around and taking in the scenery. The amenities are spread out, but it made it fun to “explore “ and find new things to do. We are already planning our return trip for October.

I absolutely LOVE this property!!!! Let’s go ahead and put that out first! We will be back! My ex-husband and I went with our 2 kids and it was plenty of space to be able to stay out of each other’s ways. We each had our own balconies, beds, and bathrooms. So this would also be perfect for 2 small families. The kitchen was equipped with just the right types of dishes for prepping small meals. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are fully functional with great water pressure and lighting. The towels are great quality. And for our 3 night stay we had plenty of complimentary items(toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, etc) The property grounds have lots of things to do. We already planned activities outside of the grounds, otherwise there would have been so much to do on site. We plan to come back specifically to enjoy them. The property is close enough to a store for all your last minute needs. Everything was perfect for us. Now just a few critiques that I feel would bother others. 1. The dryer(laundry) did not dry our clothes. Maybe it needs a new heating element. 2. The oven doesn’t open completely. 3. There is a tinge on a smoke smell. We just used febreeze on the carpets and lit candles and we couldn’t even tell. 4. The remotes needed new batteries. We had some with us so we were ok. 5. Some outlets and lights don’t work in the living room. 6. We had to mop when we got there because the floors were sticky.

Stressful check-in

Hotels.com did not share our reservation with the office. I tried calling the resort several hours before check-in, continuously ringing with no answer. Drove to the address listed, but no one was there to speak to, even though it was within office hours. Ran into someone who worked in the adjoining bank to get through to the manager. Blanche was very kind and helpful! Keys are to be picked up in a box on backside of building, but since they did not have our information, we didn't have an email with code to pick up keys. It is also difficult when the only number listed for contact info has no one answering. Once everything was figured out, check-in was good. We were only allowed one parking pass for 2 cars, which made driving through the gate a little tricky. According to the pamphlet given at check-in, there is a cost to use all the amenities (e.g., $20/day for the pool). The smoke detector continuously beeped due to a low battery, and there was no internet connection, so we were unable to use the fire stick to watch TV.

I booked this reservation and never received check in instructions. I called the management company and was told to go to the golf villas office. I went there at 4pm and door was locked and no one there. Myself and the management company called from 4pm to 10pm and never got a response. So there I was in the middle of Georgia with no place to stay. I am in the business and I feel strongly you should not rent with this company.
