The Des Roches Hotel Experience

It took an Hour and 15mins during which 5 calls were made to the front desk & all the guy at the front desk Zakhele had to say is that his job is to transfer the call to the laundry then they'll deliver the iron. After all that time my partner walked to the front desk on our own accord in order to get an iron. If delivery of the iron was the issue we could have been informed, so that we could go fetch it! Even as the time progressed no possible solutions were given just the same routine of calling the laundry; is there no follow up system in place to say this room required an iron, has it been delivered? Perhaps transfer the room to the laundry so that if irons have gone out they can estimate how long it will take to get an iron. So much for 4 Star!

Not 4-star

Door to room badly fitted and rattled. Maintenance attempted a fix but failed. No clean towels even after asking housekeeping. WiFi appalling.

A great place to visit when in Margate, for sure!!

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff service is great. The food was well prepared too. The hotel is easily accessible. Has all the sports channels I like watching soccer on. Happiness! However, there is no swimming pools to cool off at.

In dangerous area in the night.

No water given ...no dryer...noisy from wild guests into the night. Scary and don't know how they got 4 stars...Equivalent to a 1 star hotel in Philadelphia

Value for our money!

Enjoyed our stay was a lovely short relaxing weekend away from home. Everything was within our reach. Food was reasonably priced at Skyroof restaurant. The breakfast offered was perfect and very filling, with lovely staff working in Relish restaurant (all very pleasant and helpful). Overall our stay was value for money. Thank you (will definitely be back)

Great location and staff, BUT.....

Great location and staff. The hotel is rated at 4 stars, but I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars. It has a spa but it only has one technician that does all the services and the spa is poorly stocked for many of its services. Also the hair salon is closed permanently. The hotel only has one lift, which was okay while we were there but during the busy season I think it would be aggravating waiting for it. Also, you can't charge your meals to the room in either the restaurant or the hotel bar, which makes it inconvenient. The hotel is located only 1 block from the beach and overlooks the shoreline. It is a new hotel and the rooms are very comfortable and big. The staff is very accommodating and extremely professional. Overall, I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone interested in staying at Margate.

Well located and superb view from roof top

Stunning hotel, with lots of potential. Rooms are stunning. View is amazing. Walking distance from beach. Stunning pool area. Skyy Bar is beautiful. Had to beg for towels to shower on day of arrival. Service at dining area was not very good. Breakfast was not worth it at all.

Good break

We had a room overlooking the main road-very noisy.There was no sea view and we had to go up to the deck to enjoy the view. The air conditioner was very loud and noisy-very unconfortable . The staff were excellent- very helpful. Breakfast was good but limited.

I really enjoyed my stay there. The staff very welcoming. The only problem that I encountered was with the aircon. It wasn't working properly for me and it was too hot but I hope with my second stay it will be ok. Again I struggled with parking but the one outside was the best for me. I could see that the hotel is still under construction or renovation next visit it will be 100% perfect. Now it sits at 98% wow
