Hotel Cikada Åland
Check In, very professional I arrived late and there was some confusion if I paid or not. All was sorted out quickly. Room, clean, nice big balcony, but no seaview (ok with me). Property: Pool closed, not in good shape, full of green water. Breakfast, Included in price, very good a lot to choose. The restaurant opens 07:00 to 10:00 for breakfast. Check out: easy without complications Overall happy cutomer

Very Average. Be careful here.
Very Average. I suppose I should not be surprised, I guess you get what you pay for. Cheap. - but breakfast needs more staff. One girl looking after the entire full Sunday morning breakfast rush - not fair on her or your PAYING GUESTS. She was told ( only what I saw ) that you out of coffee cups , tea cups, spoons, ham, eggs, oats, corn flakes......EMPLOY MORE STAFF. It 's a shame - I was quote looking forward to a relaxing stay after no travel for ages due to Covid-19. One would think you would be putting on your best service - but no I was wrong. Hotel should be about 3 stars, but the service 1 star at best.

Great stay
Camilla at reception was quite helpful in every aspect. The location was very good near the port and the Pommern ship.

We have stayed here several times and always liked the place. This time breakfast wasn’t that good and restaurant food was a little pricey for the amount of food you got, but it tasted good.

Didn’t want to leave!
Mariehamn is a beautiful spot, and Hotell Cikada is perfectly situated for enjoying it. It’s within easy walking distance of shops and restaurant, as well as tourism information. There are several walking areas nearby. I highly recommend having a room with a view of the harbour - just stunning! On a practical note, there was a lift, making it easy to get my luggage to my upstairs room, and when it was time to leave the receptionist happily organised a taxi for me. I had a truly enjoyable stay and definitely want to return to both the island, and Hotell Cikada, one day.

we spent one night here we came in on the ferry and it was about a 20 minute walk to the ferry,it was very hot when we were here and the pool was so wonderful! there is a lift. nice restaurant . Rooms are small the bathroom was very small no air conditioning

I was in Aland to research my family the emigrated to the states. Cikada had a very family atmosphere and they attempted to please. We had unusually warm weather (I mean hot, hot weather) so it was quite hot in rooms - but they were not the only place we stayed with hot rooms. This has been quite a summer in the Scandinavian countries.

Great place to stay in Mariehamn!
I stayed here for one night mid-week in April. Since it is not high season it is more of a bed and breakfast and that is what my ratings were based on. The hotel reached out to me the day before arrival to confirm my check-in time. I ended up arriving a couple of hours early and it was no problem at all. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was clean and spacious with a “balcony” (I was on the first floor.) it had a nice sized desk and nightstands with small drawers. The closet was big with a door, plus plenty of hooks outside the closet for coats, etc. There was a big chair that was so comfortable I fell asleep in it plus a coffee table. I counted eight outlets (there may have been more) in the main space plus one in the bathroom. The bathroom was nice sized with soap/shampoo dispensers and a tub. It was a wet bath and the sides of the tub were kind of high which would be great for a nice bath! The breakfast staff were friendly and the offerings were basic but plenty for me. As a solo female traveler it was very secure with wireless keys needed to open any door. The location worked well for me, less than ten minutes pulling luggage to the Viking terminal and right across the street from the Maritime Museum (it’s amazing!). You can walk down the street the hotel is on and be in the main part of town in about 10-15 minutes. I’d love to come back and see what the place is like when it’s in full swing!

Nice receptionist, clean room, good bed, horrible duvet and pillow, good wifi, very simple and not very inviting breakfast and the staff at breakfast could really use some training in service-mindedness, nice location. Low budget, but a smile and a hello don't cost anything. I might come back if I need a budget stay.

Very convenient location from the Tillank Silja port. The hotel rents bikes (10 euro you get back if you bring the bike in 3 hours) Decent breakfast, nice staff, fairly spacious rooms.

A JEWEL!
I was on Aland for business, excellent place if you like nature and still want to be close to town. Just 10 meters to the MARITIME MUSEUM...amazing place...I say the best museum in NORTHERN EUROPE if you like shipping.

Good price compared to other hotels in Mariehman
Generally a nice hotel, which I had picked mainly for its low price and location. The room was a reasonable size with two single beds and ensuite bathroom. The bed was not all that comfortable and felt like it had collapsed a little near the head end. It had some very thick blankets which i'm sure would be lovely in winter, but in late august/early september with it being 20 degrees outside it was too much. Our room was on the top floor up 2 flights of stairs, I had a large suitcase and it was a little bit of a pain to carry it as there was no lift. Breakfast was included. It was a basic self service buffet and consisted of a reasonable selection of cereals, breads, cold meats, cooked frankfurters and ham, cheese, vegetables (peppers and tomatoes), porridge, fruit juice and tea/coffee. There was free wifi but it was a bit slow and unreliable, but for the most part it did work. It was encrypted with the very outdated WEP technology which suggests it had probably not been upgraded in 10 years time. I used free wifi at a lot of other places on the island, including on a tour bus and all were faster and more reliable than the hotel's wifi. There was an outdoor pool, but on checking in (on august 30th) we were told it would only be open until the end of August. It did feel that the weather was more than good enough this year for it to have been kept open a little bit longer.

Shanty festival in the Aaland Islands
Stayed there while attending the Baltic Shanty FestivalWonderful Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient to the ferryport,Maritime Museum and restaurants. A ten minute walk takes you to the other side of the island,if you don't want to use the very handy tourist train which stops nearby.

Aamiainen perusjuttu ja eka päivänä parempi kuin toisena. Kananmunat vetisiä sekä keitettynä että kokkelina. Sänkyn lauta pohjassa irti ja luulisi huomaavan kun petivaatteet vaihdetaan. Ja pakko mainita vielä ruokailusta ravintolassa. Tilasin ahvenkeittoa tummalla leivällä. Tarjoilija ei ymmärtänyt suomea ja jäi sanomatta että lähinnä kermalientä ja vaaleaa leipää. Taisi joukossa uida 1 perunanpalakin ja ahventa en löytänyt.... Hyvää oli sijainti lähellä kaikkea. Hinta kyllä ihan liikaa tälle kokemukselle...

Ett enkelt hotell. Rent men enkel standard och lyhört. Frukosten är ok men den var enkelt och ingen finess i tillagning eller uppläggning. Lite väl enkelt i föhållande till pris.

Sisäänkirjautumistilanne oli ruuhkainen ja kiireinen, se ilm aiheutti avainten vaihtumisen ja jouduimme vaihtamaan huonetta. Siitä jäi vähän ikävä tunne. Vaihto sujui kuitenkin hyvin, miellyttävän palvelun ansiosta.

Sijainti mitä merihenkisin! Lähinaapureina mielenkiintoinen Merimuseo, ainutlaatuisine purjelaiva aikakauden kokoelmineen, sekä maailman viimeinen, alkuperäisenä säilynyt 4-masto parkki Pommern. Miljöön täydentää kaunis, vanha, pursiseura ÅSS:än paviljonki terassiravintoloineen ja lukemattomat veneet sen laitureissa. Rantaviivan laitureilta löytyvät myös viehättävä pizzeria, sekä vierasvenesataman konttorin yhteydessä toimiva pieni putiikki, josta voi ostaa mm. vastaleivottua leipää. Maarianhaminassa ei siis tarvitse mennä tämän kauemmas viettääkseen vaikka kokonaisen päivän mukavasti. Myös viihtyisän hotelli Cikadan oma pihapiiri tarjoaa uima-altaineen ja muine aktiviteetteineen yllin kyllin kaikenlaista toimintaa vaikka isommallekin ryhmälle tai perheelle. Yhteenvetona siis toteamus: ehkä paras paikka muutenkin viihtyisässä Maarianhaminassa!
