"I have loved this hotel since it opened, and I have given it rave reviews in the past. I stay at least once a year, but this trip was definitely a surprise.
If you are a repeat guest and you haven’t been around since December, then you’ll be sad to find as I was that the vibe has changed from what I think made it so special into much more of a Corporate hotel.
There was always a breakfast that was free and everybody would gather around eat together, Chat, meet each other like a community.
It truly represented the vibe and feel of this property. Sadly that is gone now to almost a Starbucks like counter with prices behind the board and a shopping area..
While I appreciate having an area where I can buy popcorn and drinks if I would like that, it completely changes what made this hotel so special.
You can get past that with the amazing restaurant fantastic spa gorgeous ROOMS and refreshing Pool.
Sadly, the pool service, which used to have amazing food, with a person there and a bar downstairs seems now at least during the week,, (also Friday) not available any longer. There was just a small little menu and everybody walking all the way up to the building to bring their own drinks down.
Not the end of the world but definitely another change that isn’t the spirit of this hotel and both of these decisions made this particular trip, lacking. The property is beautiful, beds are comfortable. Restaurant is fantastic. The staff iA+ it was just better before. Solid B+ to A~"
"First off, a shout out to Andre at the front desk! He was warm and welcoming and the fresh chocolate chip cookies were a huge hit. Our stay was great , everything was top notch and the breakfast was outstanding! Highly recommend this Hyatt Hotel as a great place to stay."
"Staff was very friendly.
Initially, the parking situation and check in (fourth floor vs ground level) was a little confusing.
The breakfast add on was not worth it."
"Great location to everything you need and want without a ton of traffic. Parking was available during the week. Very clean and spacious. Plenty of amenities that we needed. Provided a few laundry pods, dish soap and paper towels. Did need a couple more blankets and dish cloth but we made due. Checkin and checkout very easy-keep your emails with the information because you need all the codes to come and go.
Text support was very helpful for me, to confirm anything I needed as I was nervous about not being able to find a parking place in downtown GVL. It was all so simple and I wasted time worrying about it. Go and enjoy the city and the Mint House. We’ll be back."
