Martinborough Weekend Away
Colin and Gail are superb hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay was wonderful. The units are quite tired and in need of some TLC. Location was excellent and the price per night reflected the age. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

We had booked through expidia and all was great, even messaged motel to question about an earlier arrival (as we had to get ready for a wedding at 1pm) so communications we toing and froing We think the cancelation error occurred because we had to cancel our C/Card last year and obviously payment didn't go through to motel at that moment, which they then ASSUMED we had canceled. A quick call to query/curtesy call about our stay would have ensured we were still coming! It was Easter and we feel they were quick to rent the room for longer than the one night we had requested. Not happy as Colin did'nt even bother to help in any way, just a straight, NO You canceled nothing available, sarcastic good luck in finding something else.

Depends on what you want
If you like a nice room, you’ll probably be disappointed. If you like a cheap room, it’ll probably work for the night. The pros: Low price, close to the main square (only a block away, and a small one at that), friendly owners The cons: Quite aged building/room/equipment, no wifi, limited outlets.

Great Budget Choice in the centre of town.
This is a great budget choice if you want to stay in the centre of Martinborough. No frills and needs updating, but it is clean, fit for purpose and the owners are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

It advertised itself as a budget motel and this is what it is. We were quite happy with everything including an upgrade to a larger room with kitchen. Owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

As advertised. Is an older property. Tidy but small rooms. Owner is chatty. Grabbed as only deal post NY Day in Martinborough. Close to Square was the main attraction.

Great location, nice people but somewhat dated in style and condition. Bed was not great but I still slept well so cant be too bad. One big space with 1 double and 2 singles. Would be tricky if 4 were staying.

A little run down but the price per night reflects this, so is good value for money for Martinborough. Centrally located and in a quiet location. Would definitely stay again.

This was like old fashioned New Zealand - unpretentious, friendly people, very comfortable but not posh. The bed was really comfortable and the linen was very soft. It was spotless. The shower was great with loads of instant hot water - even although it didn't look posh. The motel was within walking distance of the fabulous restaurant we went to and it was very quiet and peaceful.

This is an older style motel, but clean and comfortable. The facilities are basic but more than adequate for a short stay. The photos are accurate, and the price reflects the standard. What you see is what you get, and it is very good value for money, especially in Martinborough. We would happily stay again.

Pleasant one night stay
Stayed in Unit 1 which has 3 beds. Was a large room with full kitchen. Bed was comfortable. Gayle the host was lovely and made sure we were settled in. Very short walk into town. Two negatives were no Wifi and a small TV. Overall for the price was good value.

This property is old and very tired. The only reason we picked this property was its location in Martinborough as we wanted something fairly close to Cape Palliser, and we also wanted a kitchen. If we had it to do over again we would have stayed additional nights in Masterton or perhaps picked a spot in Greytown.

Fairly basic but spotless accommodation and with a comfortable bed. The owners were very friendly and available to rectify any problem if it arose, but none did. I was visiting family in Martinborough and only required somewhere to sleep and bathroom facilities, spending my waking hours elsewhere. The Martinborough Hotel met all of my expectations and needs and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
