Top Mary Rose Museum Hotel Reviews
Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
8/10 Good
"Breakfast was amazing. Staff very helpful. Location to outlet mall and train station perfect. The room was clean but small. Unfortunately, they had Octoberfest both nights we were there. Loud music and drunks in the open air arena kept us awake until midnight with the music and yelling. Then the music shut down but the party-goers remained shouting and laughing. We had no sleep until about 2 am both nights. If you stay here, you should request a room away from that side of the mall. I’m sure they have other venues that cause the same noise issue…"
Royal Maritime Hotel, BW Signature Collection
8/10 Good
"The room was clean and well maintained. Service was excellent as we're the staff. The price was good and bar prices were very good. The only downside was the food. It wasn't up to the usual standard at the RMC."
The Queens Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful room with a Seaview. Friendly and helpful staff. Many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Would love to stay again."

Haslar Rooms
8/10 Good
"On arrival staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cosy, bathroom was large with great walk in shower. Dressing table with hairdryer. Kettle and coffee machine with ample teabags, coffee pods and milk cartons, unfortunately you had to move the kettle etc to another surface be able to plug them in as no socket close enough. Blackout blind perfect. Only enough room on rail for 4 hangers, and the drawers were very small, not suitable for storage. Nowhere to put a suitcase. Great for a couple staying for just a day or two."
The Lady Hamilton B&B
10/10 Excellent
"While born and bred in Pompey for 19 years, I returned to my hometown as a tourist to show a friend around. Therefore, I knew of the Lady Hamilton's excellent location and I was pleasantly surprised that the "partial sea view" from the window was an excellent full view of HMS Warrior-stunning at sunrise. No noise disturbance from the pub or street and stairway means not having to go through pub; didn't drink in pub, as they had run out of London Pride real ale, but a proper local pub if you want the authentic Portsea. The Lady Hamilton is a stones throw from the dockyard (maritime museum) and the range of restuarants at Gunwharf; recommend Giggly Squid and Tap and Tandoori - has lovely vegan options .Also, a delighful 15 minute walk to Old Portsmouth-Spinaker cafe good place for breakfast and opens early. I would definitely stay here again and recommend; very comfortable bed, clean, great shower, location and view! Only thing that would have been a good thing to have in the room is a peg in bathroom for towels, though did have radiator to hang on. Although HMS Victory covered over for renovation, still a fascinating visit and The Mary Rose musuem is out of this world and a must see."
Ye Spotted Dogge
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed in the red room. It was the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The hotel and the room were filled with art and gorgeous period pieces. The hotel is like a museum in itself. The owners and staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The location is excellent and minutes away from everything in Portsmouth."
Ship Leopard Hotel – No Children
10/10 Excellent
"A very well kept hotel with lovely rooms and good breakfast. All the facilities you need for your stay is available. Remember this hotel is situated perfectly for the Royal Naval Docks and the shopping and restraunts that are there. But it also comes with the railway station and bus station so don't expect a peaceful weekend. Last bus and train seems to be 1a.m. Others wise perfect for a great weekend for shopping, eating and seeing the Mary Rose. Well worth the price."
