"Our stay at the Ryokan Tsuchi to Ito was nothing short of a dream. The ryokan itself is beautiful with gorgeous details and comfort in every corner. The host, Kimi, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, and provided wonderful recommendations as we spent our days exploring Nagano. The food is absolutely exceptional, and you can tell they take great pride in the food they grow and Kimi’s mom is an incredible cook. We will never forget our stay, and enthusiastically recommend...

"Lovely, great location, friendly staff"

"The staff were so welcoming and it was a comfortable environment to stay at. "

"This hotel is a giant log house, situated in a beautiful street of similar buildings. Nothing beats waking up to fresh snow falling outside your window (massive glass windows) and sipping on a hot cup of tea. The room was very cosy and comfortable! I had the best sleeps here. After a hard day of snow boarding, coming back to just sit in front of the fire, watch the snow fall, have a bath or have drinks with friends in the common area was absolutely amazing!! Wish I never had to leave! 10/10!!!! "

"Very friendly"

"It is close to the station and the big supermarket."

"Wonderful cheerful hospitality throughout our stay here. Kaiseki meals were outstanding! Our room with private outdoor onsen and mountain view was a perfect enchanting respite and recharge halfway through our whirlwind tour of Japan. Lovely!"

"The hotel is not the most convenient to Hakuba town, but it is quite and there is a shuttle to two ski resorts (limited to three times a day, each way). The breakfast is a great way to start the day and the onsen is a nice place to relax after a day of skiing. The rooms are vintage charm, but the staff are so very friendly."
