Hotels.com make the bookings properply.
Our stay wasn't to bad, considering when we got there you's( hotels.com) hadn't even booked our cabin but they found one for us and gave us a great deal. The cabin's could use a bit of fix up and cleaning. over all we were just there to sleep so it wasn't to bad I guess.

I liked that there was a playground for the kids in the centre of the cabins, there was a BBQ if I wanted to use it, quiet area, breakfast buffet was good, air conditioned room and room was spacious, comfy and had all needs. The staff was friendly and helpful!!

Nice place but need better customer service
Nice place, but when I asked for customer service I was disappointed, they seen they did not care about my concerns. I went twice with different people and they all seen that they were not happy at all to be working there. I would not come back there

Way to much money! No people there hotel looked like no one stayed there in years! Pool didn’t work! My stay was huge disappointed for are family! Never use Expedia again! Very upset

The place is outdated and smelly. The TV box does not work, but was replaced. Front desk was helpful. Wifi was bad...like none, maybe we were on 3rd floor. No other choice for the date we need around the area.

The room was clean but the atmosphere is brutal. Everything is very aged, pool had foam floating on top, rooms left with door open uncleaned all day from departed guests, breakfast and coffee was scary in flavor and presentation. For $200 a night you don't get much but the room was fine.

Very disappointed not as per ad pics
Not sure of the hotel rooms themselves but cabin 10, playground and overall facilty are a mess. We checked in to cabin 10 with no power which the staff turned on for us. Kitchen sink leaked, curtains falling down in one room, missing bulbs from both bedroom lamps, windows that were stuck shut, light fixtures in both bedrooms hanging from the wires, overall smell throughout cabin, bed couch was old and stained not as per pictures, outside trampoline still in service with no safety net, missing a couple of springs, protection padding falling off, one teeder todder was bent over like an A frame, overgrrown grass and weeds and the list goes on and on but you get the point. If we could have found another place on short notice we would have. We would not stay there again... sad because the pics of the place aren't too bad but it has not been maintained.

This "resort" is run down and could use a face lift. If you are a budget traveler it may be ok. However, while the staff was friendly, everything is outdated. The hallways smelled musty and not all the lights were working. There is no elevator to the top floors, the floors are creaky, poor water pressure in the shower, food quality was poor, and from a safety perspective - there should be key entry to the hotel floors. Finally - the location is a bit isolated.

Needs improvement in all areas
We, a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, were crammed into a double room which was very small. It was on the 3rd floor, which meant the slanted roof/dormers cut off a part of the room. One double bed was under this slanted roof which made it impossible for two people to sleep in this bed. So, only one person slept in this bed. I consulted the front desk with this issue, they said no other rooms were available. I asked for a refund, I was told "no". The young gentleman behind the counter offered a cot. That was our only option, so we took it. Next issue were the dusty/dirty floors. Under the beds and under the room chair, it was quite obvious these areas were not cleaned for quite some time. Lastly, was the bathroom. Upon having a shower, I noticed two USED face clothes were hanging on the shower rod. Also, there were two USED large towels hanging on the back of the door, obvisiously from the previous occupants...disgusting!!!! Lastly, were the resorts premises! A exhaust fan hanging off the side of the building by its wires, lawn in need of trimming, patio area wooden boards are in need of replacing, just to name a few. Totally disgusted, and will never return!

Not very nice at all.
We walked into this hotel and all you could smell was mustiness... It was very strong. Everything in the room felt damp and wet. The carpet, the bed and everywhere. We rented a cheap hotel so that we just had somewhere to stay but I would spend the extra money next time as this experience was very disappointing. Not only was the room pretty yucky but we get there and the pool is closed, which was one of the reasons I booked the hotel for my 4 year old. They were treating it with chemicals so it was closed for the day but since check in is 3 and check out is 11 we didn't get the chance to use it at all... Overall I was VERY disappointed in our stay at this hotel...

Hi there, the room you booked is the cheapest one with double beds. That is in the old building without elevator. I remember you wanted a discount when you checked out because the kids on 3rd floor ran to and from. While the ground floor room with patio door will make you feel confortable and there is no interruption.

This hotel was bought from previous owner by a family in April 2016. This hotel needs a lot of TLC in landscaping and maintenance of the rooms. The state of the hotel and rate of the rooms do not jive.... But when you are in need you pay whatever...

Arrived to beautiful location but found our guaranteed room with two queen beds was "upgraded" to a suite with 1 Bed and a pull out couch with a 3 inch thick matress commplete with used linen. When told the day staff including the owner said they would be down never showed up but managed later to get the 19 year old night clerk who at least changes the linen. I was not the only one to have a room in disarray when checking in.. Very uncomfortable
Sorry about what you felt here. If we have some high level vacancies, we sometimes upgraded for the guest. The room you stayed is Kitchen suite with separate bedroom. You are two adult, so that's why we upgraded to this type. As for the linen, we guarantee to change the clean one each time when the guest checked out.

I would NOT recommend.
The room was musty smelling. The shower head fell off the wall and hit my husband in the head while showering. The pool was slimmy and our life jackets and bathing suit stunk like sewage after swimming. The hotel cleaner came in the room at 7:30am when there was a Do not Distrub sign on the door. The cable box cut out every 5 minutes and reset. There was supposed to be a store in there but there wasn't. I approached the owners and got out of 1/2 nights there but the front desk owner didn't give it up without a battle and I had to call the hotel.com people to get the guy to call the front desk and tell her I'm allowed to leave without paying. It was the worst experience of my life... I'm still trying to get the small out of our clothing and luggage from staying there.

Nice clean comfortable rooms but overpriced. Beware of extra charges. We were told where breakfast was and it is laid out like a typical free continental. There is no sign indicating a charge and no one asking your room number. The owner scouts out breakfast to see who shows up and then on checkout gleefully informs you there is an extra charge for a very skimpy breakfast. Very annoying.

Sorry to make you confused. But when the guests check in, we will hand out a welcome page indicating all facilities and time open, wifi and map as well. Front desk also explains it when the guest check in. Still hope you enjoyed your stay with us.

The room photo online was a bit deceiving online, very dated building. The bathroom in a location that allowed for no privacy. No vent fan either to turn on. AIr conditioner was dated and very loud, thus sleep in a very hot room on second floor. Another problem was lack communitcation skills by staff. Some confusion over if I had paid my bill when I arrived or not during chjeck out. The person who checked me in was not working (English speaker). Individual who checked me out needs to improve her understanding of english. Not impressed with buffet breakfast.

Please understand this three floored building is traditional countryside style with lower competitive price. If you like modern style, hope next time you can choose our ground floor room. Good overall experience.
Hotel was clean, rooms were comfortable. Decor was dated but in good shape. Free wifi came in handy, but limited outlets made charging devices hard. The restaurant only serves breakfast, and is open for only 2 hours a day. It was close to all the attractions in Cavindish and amenities in North Rustico. I would recommend this hotel to people on a budget.

Disappointing
I was disappointed with our room. It was cramped and the bathroom walls were not clean. They was a couple of dark pieces of hair stuck to the door frame which were not ours cause we have blonde hair. Pool was cold. People were up early slamming doors so if you want to relax and sleep in, do not stay here. We could hear everything through the walls. Thank Heavens we had an end unit so only had people on one side of us. Breakfast buffet was not good. Pancakes weren't cooked long enough and the sausage was barely warm. The hotel looks nice from the outside and maybe the other rooms are better. We will not be staying again :(

Overpriced and Misleading Advertising
I have never felted ripped off the way I did with Cavendish. First of all they were way overpriced compared with any other accommodation on our trip. I believe we paid $180 for the night. The rooms and facilities were extremely clean. The staff worked very hard for us but appeared very understaffed. The internet did not work the entire time we were there which made getting local maps, information and future accommodations impossible. From what we're were told internet is difficult in their location and their system seemed inadequate for their situation. Similarly, they advertised pool facilities. But the pool is heated by solar in an area with a large number of cloudy and rainy days and there appears they have no supplement. The pool was beautiful and remained empty. It had not been heated at all and couldn't have been much above 70 degrees. Breakfasts were very basic. I felt like I was dealing with much more illusion than reality.

We were suppose to have a cot available to us but upon our arrival we were told none were available. We were 3 flights up without an elevator, carrying our luggage was difficult. Breakfast (Buffet) is 5.99 per person and it was yukky. The pool water was very cold, it's not heated.
