Decent apartment with caveats
It is a decent size apt in close proximity to the center of Megeve (about 10 min walk) and the closest gondola. The building is quite old but the apartment is fine for a ski vacation. It's all IKEA furniture and it looks exactly like the pictures. I would not count the pull out sofa as it's quite small and uncomfortable. So it's really a fit for 2 people max.
As for the caveats:
- It wasn't very clean, especially the floors. Quite amazing considering how adamant they are about having the guests clean before leaving even though they charge a cleaning fee
- You have to pay extra to get towels and bedsheets. In our case, we ordered them and they forgot to provide them. Had to wait for 2h+ at 10p for someone to bring the flimsiest bedsheets and towels (which had stains)
- There is no Wi-Fi. Quite mind-boggling when fiber Internet in France is ~20 euros a month. You can order a hotspot for 50 euros for 3GB of data but that also was sold out. Very annoying to have to be on roaming data the entire time.
- There are no hooks or anything to hand towels
- The coffee maker is a $5 piece of crap.
- There is nothing whatsoever for cooking, not even salt.
- We were told we could use the lockers to store our skis, it was a lie and even though we had 3 keys on the keyring, we had no idea what the others were for and the attendant just lied to us.
