I booked a wrong day but staff was very friendly and helpful, changed it for us. Although the facilities are bit old but the the friendly staff and cleanness made it nice place to stay. Plus very competitive price in the area!

Reception service was lovely. Unfortunately the hallway had a musty smell and the rooms felt 'tired'. I wouldn't stay here again unless it had a facelift.

Comfy bed, clean, had a microwave, good location. Also upgraded to a Spa room, which was nice, although did not use spa, however shower was in Spa which meant you had to step into the Spa for a shower which can be hazardous. Also booked room on line, Hotel did not answer or return my phone calls as we were unsure if we would be at The Hotel before the desk closed.

Nothing unique about the property, typically normal hotel; however, although the room was clean etc the hotel does need repainting or refurbishment of some sort.

Dodgy neighbour knocked on out door about 10pm telling us he could here us! We had the tv on - not that loud It was just myself and my 7 year old daughter who was asleep! Made me feel quite uncomfortable after that šŸ˜

The room smelt bad holes in the walls and bathroom door. No flywires on windows coulldnt open them due to bugs, to try and reduce the smell

Needs to be retired

This hotel is so outdated and delapidated - bathroom felt grotty hot water ran for over 6 minutes before any change in temperature could be discerned - TV wouldn't give a picture on over half of the free-to-air channels(audio only) mattress flat and hard. Best advice is to find an alternative for your stsy.

Room was lovely especially considering the low price. Nicely renovated. Unfortunately we discovered late at night the aircon made a horrible noise. It was a hot night so this made sleeping a little difficult. In the morning it was fine. We didnā€™t reach out to the management to try a fix the problem but Iā€™m thinking they would have changed our room if we did. Room 15. Other than that it was a lovely stay. Restaurants within walking distance in the outside cinema area. Tiny pool but a pool which was nice. For the price I would recommend

The Hotel Cavalier is well located on transport routes and close to a large shopping complex at Knox. It was very well priced for my brief stay for a few meetings on the SE side of Melbourne. I arrived late due to a late flight and the reception was super helpful via messages and emails. They kindly placed my room key into a key-safe for me to self check in quite late. The room is spacious; the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom clean and user friendly. But for those looking for a bit of luxury, the facilities are ageing (eg curtains not hanging on the sliding rail properly, door chain was not functional at all, the door locks are old and felt ā€œinsecureā€, and there was a bit of a musty smell in the room and corridors). Nevertheless, for a business traveller, I really appreciated the location, room size, comfy bed, etc because it is definitely not terrible but ā€œvery liveableā€.
