We stayed here a few years ago so decided to revisit. Overall it was fine, but there were little niggles: the ceiling light above the bed flashed when we moved on the bed and the bedside drawers hadn't been cleaned.
The room looked recently decorated and the bathroom was very clean, although the towels were frayed. The bed was a bit hard for our personal taste but we slept reasonably well.
Breakfasts were lovely! We had drinks in the bar one night and they were reasonably priced.
We didn't have dinner as we were visiting family.
Our host was friendly and cooked up a lovely breakfast in the morning! Brilliant having the fridge with bottled water and fresh milk available. The room was too hot for us (we like a cooler temperature to sleep in) but we couldn't turn the radiators down or off. However the bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Small village pub with a warm welcome, good food and smart rooms.
Great touches - fresh milk and cold water + a freshly cooked breakfast - superior to a chain any day!
