The Beach House Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Easy access to town & beaches & fabulous staff (all three desk clerks that we met - Cassie, especially, helped solve a problem!). We had a downstairs room in the 400 building, yet the balcony was perched high above the estuary, so it had the feel of an upstairs room without needing to take stairs! Even chairs & table to put out on balcony! Bring binoculars! Ample parking close to rooms. Rooms sooo clean, despite being near sandy beaches! Plentiful amenities, even individual 1/2 & 1/2s & teabags in lobby to use with Keurig in room. Huge luxurious shower. Donโ€™t miss Larry Spring Museum on Redwood St. & Mendocino Coastal Botanical Gardens (pricey, but worth it). Flowers on lobby desk from those Gardens. No electric charger for electric cars at Beach House but they were able to refer us to nearby Beachcomber Inn & additionally we found several available chargers of various speeds, taking credit cards in town. Perhaps the desk could have a list of those with addresses if there are more requestsโ€ฆthough we found it on an app."

Motel 6 Fort Bragg, CA

Motel 6 Fort Bragg, CA

8/10 Good
"First and foremost, this Motel 6 is in a very convenient location in Fort Bragg - close to everything locally & a very easy stop if you are only passing through. The property/rooms are showing their age and associated wear and tear, but repair work seems to be underway. In the meantime, the basics needed for a comfortable stay are covered! The heater/AC unit worked well. Water got hot quickly (and stayed hot) in both shower and sink. The water pressure in the shower was better than expected. The fridge was ice cold. The mattress was just fine. Plenty of parking, safe and well-lit. I felt ok leaving a few things in the car overnight and had no issues. Most of the staff were friendly. I love that dogs stay free at Motel 6!! Lastly, fresh, hot coffee in the lobby starting at 6am was greatly appreciated."
