Merrillville is pleasant and well located for NW Indiana Unfortunately the Court House museum at Crown Point has closed, although the town retains a good selection of local and speciality shops and bars.

"Breakfast is coffee with powdered cream (but seemed to be out most of the time), juice cereal and mini muffins. The room didn't have a blow dryer. The door security flip lock was broken off. Front desk staff seemed to keep guests waiting a long time to check in/help. It was ok for the price."
