"This is an old hotel with plenty of charm and grandeur. Beds are comfortable with crips white sheets. Staff were helpful and rooms were acceptably clean. I say that because the shower tray still contained someone elses hair and a bag of sweets had been left, unnoticed, on the windowsill. Ample, easy parking right on site. Hotel location is central with plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. We ate lunch in The Tavern - a bar within the hotel - which was lovely. Although there were no coffee/tea making facilities on our room, there were complimentary drinks in the wonderful lobby area.
The only thing I found a little strange about our room (617) was the layout of our bathroom - the toilet protruded right across the doorway meaning you had to contort yourself to both get in the bathroom and to sit on the toilet. Maybe other rooms are not like this. I have acknowledged that this is an old building so maybe any renovations have to observe certain restrictions?"
"We stayed because it was less expensive due to being further out from Boston. But we were hit with an aroma that I suspect was marijuana. My wife didn’t feel comfortable in the location. The room was dingy and outdated. We had planned to stay six nights but left after the first night."
"- For an older hotel, the rooms and property were very clean.
- Breakfast was exceptional; muffins were addicting.
- USB port did not work in my room, therefore I could not charge my hearing aids as my portable charger did not have enough juice."
