This hotel has many pluses. It is in a good location to reach the Autobus, buses to take you to museums, monuments, and a real nice mall, all just blocks away. I felt safe there in the neighborhood and there is a grocery next door (with an ATM) along with a 24 hour convenience store near. A nice touch is the vendors, including an artists day, who set up a block away.
You do kind of get what you pay for here. The hotel is tired and I would describe it as a cut below motel six. This hotel is where Mexicans stay when they visit Mexico City and you save a bunch of money because of that. However, they do their best to make you happy, The rooms are cleaned very well (tipping helps I think), Bathrooms are spotless. They have laundry service. Clean towels. The usual stuff. The beds are hard, but I slept like a baby.
The biggest plus is that the staff, almost none of whom with the exception of one doorman speak English, are very helpful and nice. They can set up tours, Taxi rides to popular destinations with a fixed price and let you know the better places to eat and what to avoid.
So if you are adventurous, not to picky about accommodations and want to save money, I can say I was very happy and can recommend this hotel.
