"The rate at this hotel was extremely affordable. That said, it was disappointing in the room's appointments. Although, importantly, the bed and linens were immaculate. The pillows were small but clean. There were two chairs, both needed recovering. They were stained and material degrading. The bathroom shower floor was either dirty or stained. We didn't use it. There was no mirror above the bathroom sink. The window, first floor only sort of locked. No one was at the front desk when we arrived. I read on a plaque that although this had been a Wyndham hotel, it had been sold to an individual to run but, they were subject to rules? of Wyndham. There was no indication of this on the Expedia site where we booked our stay ."

"The outdoor jacuzzi was supposed to be fixed after having problems that day. A maintenance guy even told us it was fixed and 102 degrees. So we got our suits on and went down to it and it was COLD!! We were disappointed cause we do enjoy that!"

"This place is very well kept. The staff are attentive to keeping it clean and in good order and there is always someone nearby at the front desk, in the lobby or in the dining area. The pool is clean, the breakfast area is clean and the breakfast has a large variety and is attended by staff to help guests. The room is clean and comfortable, the air conditioner works great and the room is quiet. The area has a few lakes including one behind the hotel and a big one across the street with nice views. The immediate area around the hotel is small town, go about one mile in one direction it is country, go one mile the other way is lots of shopping, restaurants, fast food, convenience stores and then after that is the town of La Porte with lots to do. A great hotel in a nice area."

"We had booked this room specifically to have a hot tub. We would be traveling the day of our stay. And getting in late. We drove farther than needed just for the hot tub. While checking in we asked is everything okay with the hot tub because we were going to be camping out there the balance of our night until they close it. The staff member pulled up the video feeding and everything looked just fine she said. From there we went unpacked changed our clothes to go down to the hot tub only to discover it was out of order. We were not happy at all went straight to the desk. The clerk then advised that it was not going to be available nor would it be until A later date. We asked if we can be comed something since the hot tub was not functioning. We were told unless we wanted to vacate the property that no refund would be provided. We asked to speak with the management to be notified they had left for the evening. We then asked what their shift was for Saturday. We were told they would be available from 8A until noon. When we went to go have breakfast and asked for the manager As when we were told the manager was not available she decided to take the day off. Things aren't looking so good for the home team because When we were in our suite we discovered marks all across our bathroom floor that were never cleaned up from previous occupants. We could see that the bedcloses to the door had a lot of wear does by looking at it. Come to find out both mattresses need to be changed out"

"The breakfast was ample, with plenty of hot and cold options. The pool was fine, and the sauna was an added benefit. I wasn't expecting to do birdwatching from the motel, but it is on a small lake, and there were egrets and lots of other birds very nearby. The shower was easily accessible (my husband uses a wheelchair)."
