"Overall, we had a nice stay and enjoyed the hotel. However, one issue really impacted our experience. We stayed on Holiday weekend and didn't get back to our room until after midnight because we were out watching the fireworks.
The next morning, housekeeping knocked on our door around 8:00 a.m. We let them know we were checking out later that morning and politely declined service. About an hour later, housekeeping knocked again, which was frustrating and made it difficult to relax before checkout.
For a higher-end Marriott Renaissance property, I was surprised there were no "Do Not Disturb" door hangers or another clear way to let housekeeping know guests don't want to be disturbed. Better communication between the front desk and housekeeping, especially on checkout day, would make for a much better guest experience.
I also mentioned this to the front desk, but the response felt dismissive. The associate simply apologized and wished us a good day without asking for our room number or looking into what happened."
