"My parents recently spent ten days at the Taj Bengal and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making them feel right at home. Highly recommend!"
"I really loved the personalised service provided by the owner as it is a family owned hotel and they go above and beyond to make you feel like you're at home. Nice food for breakfast, the owner even took us into the city and assisted us during our stay. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and air conditioned. "This a great place to stay that is in the Victorian era mode. I hope the basic decorum and vibe of the place never changes. It is a throw back to another era and all of the pictures from earlier times in Kolkata and the hotel and news clips are very interesting. Yes there maybe some pealing paint (which to me is part of the charm) but there is a touch of class throughout - e.g. white table cloths, real crystal wine glasses, antique furniture. The staff is well trained and eager to please. The breakfast that was included provided a nice array of choices that were well prepared."
"LaLiT is a historic building, near the colonial seat of power when Calcutta was the capital of the British Raj. The traffic around the hotel is chaotic, not to mention crowded. But the staff were wonderful.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and will stay there again when we are next in Kolkata."
"The revelation was the roof terrace restaurant and cocktail bar on the 10th floor. Fabulously cooked Indian menu, good cocktails and an eagle that swooped around the top of the building in search of pigeon."
