"The room is small but very clean and all that we needed. Beautiful grounds and very unique and interesting. There was a lovely woman who greeted us, checked us in and made sure we were looked after. The restaurant is in a beautiful outdoor setting and the food was great."
"Go here! We took our 17 and 12 y/o and no one wanted to leave. The staff is the friendliest and most anticipatory you will come across. They have your table setup each day, if they hear you mention wanting to try something they will make it happen (they literally went into the jungle and picked bread fruit for us), and they had items ready for every activity we had mentioned possibly wanting to do. They gave jungle, water activities, and excursions and they are all the cheapest we have found (25 USD jet skis or ATV/cave tour!)
Great for kids. They have animals, a swing, a two story water slide, a play house, and water is shallow and calm.
If you are worried about transportation they will get you (for a fee) and take you via taxi and water taxi through the jungle. It’s a secluded place with no other resorts. This means it doesn’t feel like a tourist trap (but that you may want to make a pit stop at the grocer).
Belizean owned and, while it’s only been a lodge for a few years, the property has been in their family for generations. It’s an eco lodge. They grow a lot of the food they serve and they use solar panels for electricity. They are also making several changes to the property to encourage the animal habitats.
A few minor details to note: no hot water (normal for this region), AC works great! Do ask them to restock the water in your room (it’s $1 USD a bottle at the bar). The WiFi is OK. Rooms r basic but beds r comfy, I’ll be back! "
"We had the place to ourselves and the beautiful wildlife right on the river. Shanna and Kenny were wonderful and handled every aspect of our trip. The pool and bbq were fun! I would definitely stay here again. The family of Howler Monkeys with babies were my favorite part. Peaceful, serene, and in the jungle."
