"Fantastic location, right by the river. Very nice pub with range of food & a good bar…staff all very nice & helpful…Nice to sit out on an evening. Accommodation was ok…the room was large with a comfy double bed but the kids/pullout bed was a bit old and there was no light by it. Bathroom was a good size but needs updating as fixtures were loose and decor tired…it could be an amazing place to stay, but needs some money spending on it. The location and nice staff made it a good stop over…& the outdoor space was lovely."

"Brambles is a privately owned and run B&B with 4 letting rooms. I had the room upstairs in the main cottage building. It had a superb view overlooking the garden and the countryside beyond. Be aware the stairs are quite steep. There are also 3 ground floor rooms. Alison and David provided useful travel information beforehand. They were helpful on arrival and everything was clear. Breakfast was generous and excellent, as was the hospitality tray in the room. The room and ensuite were satisfactorily serviced each day. I spent 7 nights and was fully satisfied."

"This is an excellent family run bed and breakfast in the centre of Tavistock. The room was spacious and even though the room was facing the road, I could not hear any traffic. The location was excellent and I loved the character of the road and houses. I would visit again."

"This is a magical place to stay. The remaining part of the castle, the gatehouse, is where our room was, and in fact we had use of a significant part of that building which is around 700 years old. We had a huge 4 poster bed which was very comfortable, and our own bathroom across the landing. We had access to the grounds which contain a chapel with 6th century origins. Some of the administration was not quite as perfect as we would have liked, but please persevere, as we did, and you will have a wonderful experience. A good continental breakfast was included. If you want to sleep in a genuine castle with a four poster bed, then you will struggle to find anywhere as good as this, and certainly not at this very reasonable price."

"It’s a lovely cottage which contains pretty much all you need. It’s very warm inside and there are lovely features. We were greeted with a bottle of wine, some biscuits and milk which was very thoughtful. Improvements would be that 3 people wanted a shower but the hot water ran out after 1.5 people. Also there were a few cobwebs around and it could do with a paint touch up here and there. Great value for money and we had a lovely stay."
