"On first appearances (photos on the net, etc.), it’s easy to mistake this all-inclusive hotel/small resort overlooking Castries for a fairly modest property. But it punches well above its weight class. The pools and pool decks are lovely, the grounds are immaculately well-kept (complete with organic farm sloping down from the lower pool), the food is good, the drinks flow freely, the rooms are clean and up-to-date, everything works, and – above all else – the staff are absolutely wonderful. They’re attentive, warm, gracious and not at all shy on charisma. The icing on the cake for me was when my daughter had to cancel a day or two before she was scheduled to arrive, as she became quite sick back in Canada. The hotel had every right to penalize me for half her stay. But between management and the front desk, they decided to reimburse her stay in full. Unheard of. I should note that I stayed in two other resorts during my stay in St. Lucia, and while both are ranked in the most exclusive top 5 on the island, Bel Jou will always own a special place in my heart. "some Palm trees rounded up the view to the beach, it is very calm there, no cars, recommendation to join the Marigot beach resort in the after season, relax or make some tours around the island, by boot or car. If you not so fit, request a stay at a lower part, otherwise some steps are there for good exercise to reach the room, smile."
