After driving through the lavender fields of Provence near Sault, you suddenly find the road get much narrower and the huge Gorges de la Nesque opens up before you. Stop near the beginning at the view points to see this amazing view down the valley with the road curving its way along the edge. Once you have started down the road, there won't be any places to stop as the road is narrow, steep and full of sharp corners. Definitely a hidden gem in Provence. #lifeatexpedia #roadtrip #france #provence

I went to Mont Ventoux a year after the Tour de France used it on their route, but you could still admire the graffiti on the road! The lower slopes are wooded, but half way up you arrive to a barren moonscape - according to the car temperature gauge it was 10 degrees at the foot of the hill and -4 by the time we got half way up.
