"I can only say the place was immaculate, spacious, well maintained and the owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place."

"Room was very well maintained. Location is tricky. Owner did send some kind of map but still needed his help to locate the exact room. GPS will get you close to the property but will need owners help to figure out the exact location of property. Keep the owners phone number handy before heading there. Property is on a slightly uphill and will need driving through unpaved road and curvy roads. While the photos are true that the backyard has wilderness, you cannot stay there even for few seconds because of lot of mosquitoes. We had to run inside and shut the door. Owner is friendly and shared his experiences when we went for breakfast. Breakfast is great mix of fruits and cereals and homemade blueberry cake. Everything was fresh and great."

"We had a lovely stay at Talkeetna. The room is big enough and the beds comfy and large. The shower is, unusual for Alaska, not fixed at the top so you can take it down which is a plus. The centre is just a 10 minute walk through the forest and the place perfect to explore the surroundings. The owner‘s family who are originally Swiss are lovely."

"My husband said the skeeters (mosquitos) were so large and so many, they could have carried me away. Luckily, the property provided a electric bug zapper and he spent hours enjoying killing the little boogers. They were a major problem, we thought he killed them all and we woke up with mosquito bites and they were buzzing around again the next morning. Kinda a buzz kill….the cabin was fine, but the bugs were bad."

"Stay: Late-May, 2026 This place was fantastic! Perfect for what we were doing--a quick one-night stay in Talkeetna, and then on to Denali NP. This little cottage is every bit as quaint and charming as shown in the Expedia listing. The place is about 2.5 hours to Denali, so it's a great mid-stopping place to take in a great area. It's clean, well-appointed, aesthetically pleasing, and yet very utilitarian. If you're a couple just looking to "chill" for two or three days before you hit Denali NP hard--do it here. You won't be sorry. Take a nap, do some reading, binge a favorite show, take an incredibly beautiful hike, walk or stroll, rent a bike, work on your photography skills, whatever. Then head into town for breakfast, lunch or dinner and take in some great Alaskan culture. I'd do this place again without hesitation."
