Choose from several ways to experience Monte San Salvatore, each culminating with the stunning vistas afforded by its stunning location. Board the funicular from the centre of Lugano to travel in comfort to the top of the mountain in just 10 minutes.
For more exercise, follow one of the hiking paths that lead from the town to the summit. A number of trails deviate from the main path, allowing you to explore the vegetation and the fascinating mountainous landscape. Continue along the path from the summit to reach Ciona, a quaint mountain village.

Monte San Salvatore is located on the outskirts of Lugano. The funicular runs every 30 minutes in summer the last return ride is late in the evening. Arrive prepared for a variety of weather as the rising altitude means that temperatures can drop very quickly. A fee applies for the funicular but hikers can visit the mountain free of charge.
