This is one of the best hotels in Montevideo. The location is perfect, the rooms and amenities are beautiful, and the hotel staff is incredible. The food at both restaurants is really good. The only minor critique is that the restaurants seem a little under staffed. All in all, if you can splurge, go for it. It's worth it.

The bed is comfortable, the shower is great, the location is good. It’s not a “leading hotel of the world”. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was horrible! The pool is small. The rooftop is supposed to be for guests but there was a private event there two of the four nights we stayed. It’s not worth the price. Overrated.

Luxury experience at a reasonable price.

We had a lovely stay. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooftop pool/bar/restaurant area is excellent with great views of the city.

The room was exceptionally spotless, with an incredible flare by the interior designer. One quirky item though was the large corner floor model of indirect lighting. It looked like a photographer"s 48" high tripod with a 30" reflective concave dome to provide the full bedroom with lighting. It did not achieve that goal as the room was very dimly lit. The closet area had a drawer fridge and also a drawer safe, which both achieved function and space saving. The gym in the hotel has incredibly innovative fitness equipment that are both high tech and beautiful by design. The roof top bar, like the ground floor dining room uses the interior designers flare for Retro, with extensive use of porcelain, vintage mirrors and woodwork. I highly recommend the Hotel Montevideo, if it is within your budget to spoil yourself a little.

This hotel is very nice and in a good location. It has an amazing rooftop bar and friendly staff. We booked the family room which had an amazing balcony. It is the best 5 star hotel that feels like a city hotel but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel like home.
