I didn't get the room I reserved upon arrival.They put me in a different room. I went on and took the room because I'm a traveling nurse here on assignment . I called the hotel from work and told them I needed to extend my stay for one more day, they said ok no problem i'm in my room asleep when all of a sudden. This rude man beats on my door and tells me it's after 11o'clock. I tried to explain to him that I extended my stay an extra day. And that I had called and spoken to someone about it. He began yelling at me, saying you need to come pay. I'm sleeping because I have to go to work tonight. But I told him, okay, I got up and went and paid, even though he continued to be rude and speaking in a different language. prior he told me, you need to pay. You need to payassignment

Staff couldn't speak English well, first room ok but toilet rocked. Asked for another room. Had to go upstairs. No elevator, had to drag our luggage upstairs. Dirty! Smelled! The sheets stained from where someone slept in it. Couch was filthy, carpet worn and unkept. Horrible experience with staff. Sleeping there was like a nightmare. Never again will I go through Experian to reserve and pay for a hotel before I go in and check it out!!!!!

Very Very Disappointing

The bed cover had blood stains, the sheets were stained, the couch and chair were nasty looking. Mold was in the corners of the room. The air conditioner looked like someone had thrown up in it. We booked a 3 night stay for business and checked out the next morning after the 1st night. No other hotels in town. No we didn't get our other 2 nights refunded to us.

Had to wait for an adult to come to the desk so we could check in. Then tried to sleep with a crying baby and some guy yelling at the baby all night, not to mention the bumping music going most of the night also. Next morning, had to go to the desk and wait again for someone who could get me some coffee and sugar, only to find the packs of sugar/ sweetener had no stir straws in them.

Loss of Long Term Guest

My family and I stay here every year as we get together for Thanksgiving in Star City. When we book, we know that this is a small hotel, family owned, and probably run on an extremely tight budget. We accept that and appreciate that there is a place to stay close to our family. While the place is a bit dated and in need of quite a few repairs, we've always been greeted with warmth. Unfortunately, this year, that was not the case. Arriving 12 minutes before check-in time, we were denied check in, even though no housekeeping was still doing rooms. We went on to our family's place, and hung out for several hours. When we returned to the hotel, we were given a room upstairs after specifically requesting a first floor room. (There is no elevator) Our room had been booked for several weeks and the lady at the counter had no care that our booking specified a 1st floor. This is the same lady that wouldn't allow us to check in 12 minutes before check-in time, and then didn't reserve our booking for a 1st floor room, knowing we were there and coming back to the hotel. Unfortunately, we will not be staying there any more. We will drive the extra 20 minutes further south to Monticello.

It took almost 30 minutes to check in and I had a prepaid reservation. The longest portion of that was trying to charge me a $20 dog fee. I unpacked as my hubby unloaded and walked the dog. After that we realized the dead bolt on the front door AND the dead bolt to the joining room didn’t work. We moved to a different room. ZERO reimbursement or refund.

My stay was horrible. The manager was very rude and unprofessional. The refrigerator did not work and my food ruined. When I reported the refrigerator it was hours later before it was resolved. I will not recommend this hotel, Star City Inn, to anyone.

My stay at Star City Inn & Suites was friendly,the lady that is over the place was very understanding to my situation, death situation and my dogs 2, I was given a ground floor room next too the outer door to make it easier on me physically. The air conditioner was Great! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. My step-brother even went out of his way to get a room at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating. if I'm ever this way again l will stay here again.
