Baymont by Wyndham Jamestown Conference Center & Water Park
2/10 Terrible
"Despite overall “disappointing” reviews of this property (online), I decided to try it. Not a positive experience.
POSITIVES:
1. Responsive front desk person when checked in at 5:30 PM (I requested change of room due to very unpleasant pet odors in assigned pet room and she immediately provided a non-pet room).
2. Shower water was wonderfully hot.
3. Conveniently located close to exit doors for my pet.
4. A/C worked well.
DISAPPOINTMENTS:
1. Pet room reeked of animal feces and urine
2. Bathroom had very strong septic smell that was very strong
3. Drain in tub was clogged so it filled while taking shower
4. Windows on my first floor room didn’t open, so room very stuffy.
5. No available bags/depository for dog waste
6. Broken lampshade next to bed; cracked tiles in shower. Needs some repairs."
"I’ve always enjoyed staying at Hampton. This stay was the exception. I had two rooms. One room didn’t have a coffee pot and was told they would check on it. A call was never returned. When we went to the front desk later that evening, was told they didn’t have another. The breakfast was not good in the morning with little variety. It really seemed like the hotel was preparing to close for some reason. Will not stay at this location again."
"Our room was very dark. We had difficulty reading even with all the lamps on and the curtains opened.
Disappointed that coffee was not available everyday as advertised."
"While the rooms were as clean as could be within a hotel that was almost completely under construction, it was COMPLETELY under construction and after speaking with others has been that way for years. There was construction garbage, tools, and even razor blades lining the hallways and parking lot. The pool has not been functional for several years and is used to store construction equipment, so don’t expect it to be up and running. We paid WAY too much for this place. Very disappointing."
"My husband stayed there two weeks for work. He was told they didn't clean rooms he would have to do that himself neither did they give fresh towels or linen he would have to launder them himself. There was an inch and a half gap under the outside door when he got there that didn't get fixed until shortly before he left. Parking was terrible. Many of the tenants would take two spaces because they didn't want their vehicles scratched so if you didn't get there early there would be no where to park"
