"The check in staff was quite rude - she made us wait another half an hour to check in without a proper explanation. Staff should be taught customer service as it is the guests that keep them in business. The apartment room had all the basic amenities, cookware, utensils and plenty of storage. "First of all it should be pointed out that the flat is in a senior citizens home. Slightly strange but unless you keep very strange hours then it's not a problem. "I liked the concept of this hotel and the service. Had a minor issue upon check in and the young man named Benjamin handled the situation very well turning my experience instead of a negative into a positive one, even though he did nothing wrong to cause the issue in the first place."

"The Mondrian is a modern, upscale hotel just outside Bordeaux’s historic center. The location is not premier, but the old city is easily accessible by car or bicycle. The hotel preserves its historical façade, but don’t expect a French château experience. Behind it is a contemporary structure of concrete, glass, and steel, with the rooms and atmosphere of a modern European business hotel. The team is young, friendly, and capable, and the Japanese restaurant is superb—definitely one of the highlights of the stay. However, some details fall short of a true five-star experience: inconsistent number and quality of towels replaced daily, limited attention to bed making, lack of branded toiletries, and occasional back-office activities visible to guests. These are issues that training and attention to detail can solve. Two shortcomings are more structural. The single driveway serves both taxis and valet parking, so one car can easily block traffic. More importantly, the room air conditioning is inadequate for an international five-star hotel. Even running continuously at its lowest setting, my room would not cool below 73°F (23°C). Overall, a pleasant modern hotel with a promising team and excellent restaurant, but still short of the consistency expected from a true five-star property."

"We really enjoyed our stay in Hotel Life, a great hotel, very comfortable, near the station and the tram stop is just outside. We hired bikes from the shop on the same street and were able to store them in the car park over night. The staff were super helpful, they genuinely wanted you to have a fantastic stay. Thank you Yanis for all your tips on where to go with teens!"
