O Memorial JK é uma das muitas obras de Oscar Niemeyer em Brasilia. Um museu que conta a história da construção de Brasilia e de seu idealizador, o ex-presidente Juscelino Kubitschek. Além da Câmara Mortuária do ex-presidente, o museu conta com a sua biblioteca, fotos, roupas, condecorações, presentes, a faixa presidencial e até um Ford Galaxie usado por ele.

The JK Memorial is one of the many works of Oscar Niemeyer in Brasilia. A museum that tells the story of the construction of Brasilia and its idealizer, former president Juscelino Kubitschek. In addition to the Mortuary Chamber of the former president, the museum has its library, photos, clothes, decorations, gifts, the presidential banner and even a Ford Galaxie used by him.

Brasilia is a strange city. Newly developed since the 1960s as the administrative capital of Brazil, everything about the city is planned. Laid out in the shape of a plane, the 'skeleton' is a network of wide boulevards with six lane highways either side, enabling the free movement of cars and buses. The nexus of the city is a car park and the central bus station - sounds awful, but it works. Surrounding the nexus are high rise buildings, representing different well defined sectors of the city. It is fascinating to see a functioning city designed from a futuristic vision of a city from the 1950s.
