Moness Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Moness was a an overnighter which looked cheap and cheerful. I booked 2 twin rooms. Both were immaculate, well equipped and stocked with toiletries. We had dinner in the dining room. Really good food and not extortionate for a hotel. Breakfast was again very good. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool sadly as we had other commitments but very pleased with the stay. Would recommend"

"The building is stunning and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Couple of small points , were that the shower didnt drain very well to the point of almost overflowing and we couldnt open the bathroom window. The room next door , the door banged loudly everytime they used it and they left their dog in the room to bark and howl when they went for breakfast. Maybe thats our fault for not complaining , but i wont be going to a dog friendly hotel again if thats what is going to happen. Beautiful old building in a lovely location, ideal for exploring the area with excellent staff who were very welcoming."

"The grounds are beautiful. I stayed in a river view room with a balcony: so peaceful and relaxing. The room was very nice, but if your priority is a good mattress and plump pillows, mine were not great. But not terrible either. The staff are friendly and helpful overall. Scottish breakfast was good. Several large groups moved through in the 4 days I was there, so it became quite bustling."

"Our room was lovely, modern and clean throughout. Comfortable bed. Plenty of parking at the property. Beautiful 4 star house/hotel. There was an event taking place when we arrived and there was no space in the restaurant for us for dinner, however the hotel staff were able to recommend their sister pub in the village, which was a very friendly traditional pub and we ate there. We can strongly recommend the full Scottish breakfast at The Abbotsford which was delicious."

"Room was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful. The food in the restaurant was lovely. What wasn't good was the racket from other resident drinking and socialising outside the hotel beneath our room . It was noisy till very late on Thursday evening and worse on Friday evening/Saturday morning when the disturbance continued beyound 12.30am. When we stay there again, and we will, we shall be making sure our room is in a quieter part of the hotel."
