"This is the 3rd time that I am returning to Halcyon. It really is the best hotel on Mawella beach (and maybe even in whole of southern province :) The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly, including owner Xander, it's absolutely right on the beach , the food is great. What more to say, it's a little peace of heaven :) "

"My wife and I had an amazing stay for our honeymoon. The location is so peaceful, with the beach behind the hotel being so beautiful. The food prepared at the hotel was simply stunning! We had a daily set menu with choices, and the menu was great, food portions were generous and tasted amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. "We really enjoyed our stay, staff were excellent, the food was generally really nice especially the Sri Lankan dishes. The place is very quiet, clean and calm. I highly recommend it for people who are trying to escape the daily rush. However, I advice to search this accommodation thru several different agents, as some of them might offer a very good discounts, which we couldnt get due to the booking with expedia."

"The hotel itself was ok but the staff were very slow to clean up we seen glasses lying around for 2 days until my wife picked them up and took them back to the kitchen. It’s very isolated and the hotel menu is limited and expensive. If you would like to just relax and do nothing then you will probably enjoy this hotel"
