"The breakfast was first rate, the cooked breakfast was just enough and cooked to perfection. The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful which greatly improved the whole experience. The building internally would benefit from a little attention eg. Some flaking paintwork in hallway, but nothing offensive, and did not affect our stay at all. The room was clean and well presented, so glad we upgraded to Deluxe double. Noticed a little black mould on the grout around bath, but it was clear that the bathroom had been thoroughly cleamed. We loved staying at the Macdonald Linden, and would happily recommend it to other travellers
We hope to return soon. Great base for exploring the beauty of Northumberland. An altogether great weekend."
"Superb location and venue. Delightful pub with top cask ale and the food was sublime. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff were highly friendly and attentive. The only negative was the electric shower which was very temperamental and low pressure. A real treat though overall."
"Excellent Pet-friendly hotel. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were perfectly clean and acceptable, the little fridge for fresh milk was a bonus as those plastic cartons are awful. The food was absolutely wonderful on the evening meal, lovely and fresh and pleasantly presented. Breakfast, there was so much choice other than Full
English which was a pleasant surprise.
All in all everything was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days there and we will be back in the future."
"Mandy rang us to ask what time we would expect to be there on the day, then met us as we parked up. Mandy was very friendly and warm. There were fresh cakes and coffee/tea when you are in the reception, you help yourself. Everything was spotless. The room was amazing, under floor heating in the bathroom was a treat. The bed was so comfy. The breakfast was perfect, the french toast was epic, you won't need lunch, the portion was a great size. I would recommend the home made granola, delicious. All the staff were friendly, her grandchild at breakfast was really helpful, I swear she was the boss really. Couldn't fault the place, great location."
